Day 12: Threadless Airstream

"Swan dive! Into the best night of your life."
- Old Spice guy

  • Finally saw In the Heights.  The music was amazing, the energy was great, and I totally cried throughout the whole thing because I was just THAT excited.  It definitely lived up to my expectations.  It was an honor to see Lin-Manuel Miranda play the role that he originated in Broadway.
  • I love the Los Angeles Public Library. The "teen" section of the building had these humongous bean bag thingies and it's officially my favorite place to read.  Luckily, I look young enough that I can still blend in.
  • Speaking of... I'm currently reading The Passage by Justin Cronin and He's a Stud, She's a Slut And 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know by Jessica Valenti.  It's about time I start opening books again (or turning on my Kindle).
  • I was having a bad day yesterday so I made an appointment to get a massage after work.  Man, it was good.  And the best part is that it only cost $45 for 1 hour.
  • I'm going to the Renegade Craft Fair next Saturday!  And you know what's even more awesome?  I totally won a $20 gift certificate from KXLU that I can use to buy stuff at the event!
  • Catching up on Friday Night Lights.  Even with the fresh new faces, it's still good :D
  • Started watching Pretty Little Liars.  I'm not sure yet if I find it awesome enough, but I'll keep watching.
  • So much drama lately.  I'm distancing myself from Facebook for a while and focusing more on the positives.  "Less lonely and more happy" is the motto.
  • In an effort to be less lonely and more happy, I'm gonna try to get in on this 365 project thing.  One picture a day for 365 days.  It'll get my creative juices flowing and also put some meat in my thinning LiveJournal blog.  I'll be posting my first picture shortly.

"I'll be here all day, but not all day cuz... I do wanna go to the club."
- Ron Artest

Dude, I had an amazing weekend.

Today's Awesome List
  • The Lakers are the 2010 NBA Champions!
  • I got my hair did, y'all. I got a trim and a lil' bit of color. I'm a sort-of redhead!
  • Saw Toy Story 3 at the IMAX and cried my eyes out. It was fantastic.
  • Imogen Heap @ the Greek Theater! Man, that woman kicks ass.
  • Went to San Diego Zoo on Sunday! I love that place.
  • Imogen Heap @ Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay. She's so good, I had to see her twice.
  • Took the day off yesterday. W00t!

Oh, we're warmed up. We're warmed up like biscuits. Dance biscuits.

- Saturday Night Live, "Sexy Ladies" skit

This weekend, I...
  • had a "Bones" marathon with my BFF Lisa.
  • watched season 2 of  "30 Rock" online.  (Thanks for thinking about the Mac users, Netflix!)
  • stayed indoors because of all the smoke and ashes from the brush fires.
  • cuddled with my baby
  • did not go to the gay marriage rally in L.A. and missed out on Lucy Lawless.
  • delighted in the lovely taste of white chocolate macadamia coffee creamer.
It's 4:45 PM.  I'm ready to go home, man.

"If I had to name my greatest strength, I guess it would be my humility. Greatest weakness, it's possible that I'm a little too awesome."

- Barack Obama

La la la...
I'm just sitting here... chillin' and wearing my kickass Barack Obama tshirt. The only thing missing is a nice cup of hot cocoa. Or maybe some sort of alcoholic beverage.

I finally watched this week's episode of "Heroes." It didn't suck so I guess that means I'm gonna keep watching.

Let's talk about Prop 8. I mean, what the hell is up? I'm hearing that it's leaning more towards YES than NO right now. That is like, so wrong. Hey, California! Why can't you just admit that you're totally GAY? I know you've got the hots for Massachusetts. It's time to get the fuck up and do something about it. Free yourself of the lie!!! Embrace the homo that you are. Vote NO on Prop 8!!!

We are going to an after-hours club so after-hours, it's three days from now.

That's right, bitchez. I'm going to see Spring Awakening three more times before the year ends. And check it out: on December 6, I get to sit ON STAGE and be a part of all the action. I'm tempted to get one more ticket for a balcony seat just so I can say I've seen the show from the orchestra, the balcony, and the stage. LOL!

I want this bag.

Like, I really really really want it. I want it so bad. But it's $101.00. And I really should be saving money.

I watch too much TV. Even after I took off "House" from my TiVo season pass, I still have too much crap to watch. Like, this weekend I'm gonna try to catch up on all the stuff that I missed, rented, downloaded and bought, but I also need to catch up on sleep. What to do, what to do?!!

xrogue81: (bsg_karalee)

"Look, in my opinion the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with."

- Mac McGuff, Juno

[livejournal.com profile] expatiates posted this on her MySpace bulletin, it made me LOL!!!

This weekend was... hot. It was hot and yucky in my room and I want it to END already. I can't wait for frigging winter.

Anyways, I bummed around a lot and watched a few tear-jerker movies and cried. Oh, and I also bought new shirts from Threadless.com:

Speaking of buying stuff, I also bought new games for my Nintendo DS. Yep, I bought Jam Sessions and Flash Focus. And one day, I will buy Guitar Hero: On Tour. Weeee!

I slept at around 10:30 PM last night and woke up at 6 AM this morning. I was like, "Dang... what do I do now?" so I popped in my Hot Fuzz DVD, trimmed my nails, put on blue nail polish, and started my weekend. God, I miss having movie marathons.

Anyways, I'm watching Glory right now. Boy, that movie makes me cry. It's such a powerful film. And the music... ((sighs)) the music just does it for me. You da man, James Horner. I wonder what I'll be watching next...

Got a notice from Amazon.com that they've completed my refund for that blasted copy of Breaking Dawn. I'm so happy to see my $12.00 back!!!

Does anybody here use the Bare Escentuals mineral powder? Man, that shit clogs up my pores, which is weird cuz it's not supposed to clog pores!!! Back to regular powder I go.

McCain's VP choice is making me laugh and scared at the same time. Democrats think it's ridiculous. Republicans think it's the best plan evarr. How am I supposed to feel about this, you guysss?!!

Man, I shouldn't have woken up at 6 AM. Cuz now I'm all sleepy. Maybe I'll nap after I watch Glory. Anyways, have a great Labor Day weekend, ya'll!

"Love is hard work, but it's the best thing you'll ever work for in your life."

- Wade Robson

I went to see Pageant of the Masters with my sister last night. It was quite interesting. Neil Patrick Harris was the gala host so he did a little intro before the show started and he was HILARIOUS! Anyways, another thing worth mentioning:

All in one place, I might add.

I don't get all the plastic surgery talk being centered around L.A.
Women with boob jobs apparently all live in Laguna Beach.

"My heart... It feels like my chest can barely contain it. Like it's trying to escape because it doesn't belong to me anymore. It belongs to you. And if you wanted it, I'd wish for nothing in exchange - no gifts. No goods. No demonstrations of devotion. Nothing but knowing you loved me too. Just your heart, in exchange for mine."
- Yvaine, Stardust

Nope. I haven't read Breaking Dawn yet. I figured I can just torrent the damn thing, but when I tried to cancel my Amazon order, it wouldn't let me. Apparently they're already getting ready to ship it. Boo.

This weekend, I watched movies. I particularly loved Penelope and Charlie Bartlett. Fun times. I also got some sleep, but that didn't make me any less sleepy than I already am. I mean, what's up with that? I was more alert when I was sleep deprived!!!

I re-joined Facebook. Yep, you heard me. MySpace was just having way too many issues that I had to release some of my frustration. I don't understand why I'm not getting any notifications and why my updates are not showing up. Yo, MySpace... if you're gonna steal some of Facebook's features, at least make sure they are functioning properly! Don't get me wrong, I'm still on MySpace... but unless Tom (or whoever) fixes these little things, I'mma go cheat on them with Facebook.

(But please, do not send me any vampire/zombie applications.)

Holy crap. Yesterday I was on the train and all of a sudden all these cops came in with their guns drawn and everybody was all "Oh noezzzz! We're all gonna get shottt!" LOLz. Someone asked one of the officers what was up and he was like "Calm down, everyone. We are looking for someone." And some dude goes, "Who?" And he goes, "We believe there's an armed robbery suspect aboard the train, sir." And then this black guy was like, "IS HE BLACK?!!" So like, everybody was LOL'ing like hell and cracking jokes and it was the funniest thing ever (but sort of sad at the same time). Anyways, as it turns out the suspect wasn't on the train so it's all good.

I'm finally gonna see The Dark Knight tomorrow!!!!!! I know, I'm so late. But hey, not only will I get to see it at the IMAX theatre, I get to hang out with my boy Will too! I haven't seen him since B-Boy Unit last February, so I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

I'm starting to think about my holiday vacation already. I don't know where I'll be, but I know who I should be with <3

Awwww... look at my Meghan-bear. She's all grown up and like... all college graduate-y.

But now I have to find a new student worker for the next semester. DO NOT WANT.

Ok, anyways... so.
On Saturday I went to Meghan's graduation. And then afterwards I went to Marina del Rey to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. And after I saw Sarah Marshall, I saw Iron Man!! Thanks to you guys, by the way. I initially had no intention of watching it, but after hearing the collective SQUEE from my f-list, I had to give it a chance!

On Sunday, I ate at Lucille's with the fam for Mother's Day. Then I took the best nap ever. And now I'm awake and watching "Doctor Who." Fun times :)

Off to New York in 6 days.
Boston in 9 days.
Virginia/DC in 12 days.

Mmmm... lazy weekends. So much love and lots of sleep. Me loves it.

On Friday I went to Lakewood High to watch my cousin Demi play Jan in her highschool's production of Grease. She was hilarious. I love her.

On Saturday I went to see Avril Lavigne in concert. Except... she had laryngitis and had to cancel the show. I was a bit disappointed, but I must admit... I was quite relieved. That's $100+ dollars back in my pocket, baby!!!

On Sunday I slept a lot :D I wanted to watch Iron Man and Forgetting Sarah Marshall but I was much too comfy to actually want to leave my bed!

It was 100 degrees yesterday. Fuck you, California.

Turtle + Duckie + MySpace + YouTube + Sudoku = 8 hours on the phone. Yes, 8 hours on the phone.

Things that I watched over the weekend:

- Adventures in Babysitting
- High Fidelity
- Jumper
- Battlestar Galactica
- Doctor Who
- Robin Hood: Men in Tights
- Cloverfield
- Lars and the Real Girl
- Secretary

I've been having issues with my left arm. It's been in knots for the past two days. I think it's been itching to fist-pump already. It is ready to see Avril Lavigne in concert on Saturday. Woo hoo.

Shoes, yes?

I've caught the sneaker bug.
It's dangerous. Cuz I want more.

I spent 6 hours and 5 minutes on the phone last night/this morning. I haven't done that EVER. I think my record was 5 hours and I totally had that BEAT. Hehe... it's soooooooooo highschool, I love it. Thanks for helping me use up my otherwise unused cellphone minutes, Turtle!!!

No, wait...
I have unlimited nights and weekends.

Me = 0
AT&T = 1

I'm so glad that my favorite shows are starting to come back with new episodes. It really helps fill in the blanks, you know? Cuz I really hate it when I'm bored and I start having... deep thoughts. Cuz they're usually (and unnecessarily) emo. Anyways... I'm finally caught up with BSG and "Doctor Who." The weekend has been good to me.

Meet DAWN.
She's my shiny new camera!

Ain't she pretty? I guess something good CAN come out of a really bad day at work.

The weekend has been going great so far. I'm getting some much-needed downtime and A LOT of sleep. Actually today I woke up at 2:30 PM and it was awesome. I think I need a new mattress, though. Everytime I wake up my back hurts and this Brookstone massager that I have is not making it any better.

Anyways, back to my weekend. I'm finally caught up with Degrassi and I must say, I'm a bit upset that my girl Deanna Casaluce isn't in the opening credits anymore. What the hell is up with that?!! They sank my ship and now they're taking my girl away? Bah.

The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold is like, one of the worst movies EVER.

Watched Lost and Delirious with Turtle and learned a bit about unsexing raptors and like, blood and stuff.

Finally caught up with that friend from college. She cleared some stuff up for me. I hope she's right.

Big thanks for [livejournal.com profile] ronsypooie for asking me stuff about Wicked. Your questions made me check out the tickets for my next show I realized that it is, indeed, in MARCH and not in June. Holy mother, I could have missed it if it wasn't for you!!! THANK YOU!!!

I'm finally coming to terms with my Macbook. I think I'm starting to really like it. I mean, these widgets are rocking my world! I think I'm gonna download a game or two...

I've never been here before, but I feel like I'm home. I wish to stay for as long as I can.

This weekend, I...

... celebrated Mylene's birthday at The Stinking Rose with my sister and our other girl cousins. I had to return the fetuccine/pesto that I ordered cuz I didn't like it... and then I ordered short ribs instead, which was delicious. I had garlic taste in my mouth 'til Sunday night, though, and it was soooo icky!

... hung out with Lisa. We realized that we'd watch just about anything together from Kevin Smith to... jackrabbits.

... enjoyed some interspecies erotica. I mean, my cat and my pig are so cute together!! And check out how giddy I look:

... got lots and lots and lots of sleep, which, apparently, isn't enough.

On Monday, I...

... got the sudden urge to reconnect with a friend from college. Through the power of Google, I was able to read some excerpts from her "memoirs" and I thought, "Wow... I've known her for quite a while and I didn't know all this was happening." I wish I was able to be there for her while she was struggling with some of her personal issues. I do miss our X-Files marathons very much.

... watched "The L Word." Go away, TiBette!!!

... got annoyed cuz Netflix canceled my DVD order for Saving Face

... mmmm... Rhys.... mmmmm.... pony... mmmmm... Jack and Demi makeoutnowplz.

Today I...

... got swamped at work.

... got my Mighty Ducks boxed set and Enchanted in the mail.

This week, I got sick.
But that's okay :)

Here's a list of why my week rocked anyway:

1) Work wasn't too stressful.
2) I got to see Wicked with my cousins. It was my 4th time seeing the musical.
3) Had a great time with Sara at 3rd Street Promenade last Thursday. Lunch was great and the day was very... interesting.
4) Watching the snow fall with a very good friend :)
5) Evening with Kevin Smith.
6) Lisa and I are hilarious and cute and we will steal Avril Lavigne's tour bus and run away to Canada and then Australia to raise our alien baby.

Dominic Sandoval, ME, and Sara VonGillern
BBoy Unit, Los Angeles
February 16, 2008

Hola, folks. How's it going? Things have been cool and calm lately, and for that I am thankful. I had a mini-marathon of "The L Word" this weekend and I'm currently waiting for the next disc on my Netflix queue. I'm loving season 4 so far and I've LOL'ed so many times, it's awesome. And by the way, I totally love Jenny Schecter now!!! Wow, what a change!!! I don't find her annoying anymore and I'm glad :)

On Saturday I went to BBoy Unit @ the Crash Mansion in LA. I saw some amazing breakdancing crews, including a group of kids (I'm guessing from ages 8 to 14) who call themselves "Curfew Breakers." They totally battled against adults and they blew my mind. The best breaker in the group was this little girl named "B-Girl Simi" (check her out on YouTube!!!) and daaaaaaaaaaaaamn... she is gonna kick SO MUCH ASS when she grows up.

Of course, as you can see on the pic above, I also met Dominic and Sara (from SYTYCD, if you've already forgotten)!!! Both their crews competed in the battles (Unfortunately, Sara was late and missed her own battle) and it was awesome. Got to chat with them for a little while, which proved to be difficult because it was SO LOUD in there, we had to yell at each other the whole time! Anyway, I've got more pictures on my MySpace, if ya'll are interested.

Speaking of SYTYCD...
Dudes, seriously watch SYTYCD Australia. Ya'll are missing out. Download the torrents and WATCH. If you don't mind streaming video, go visit the SYTYCD Oz thread on IdolForums. Those are full episodes right at your fingertips, ya'll. Get to it!!!

xrogue81: (vm_bff)

But every so often I'll have, like, a moment, where just being myself in my life right where I am is, like, enough.

- "My So-Called Life"

This weekend:
- Had a "My So-Called Life" marathon
- Updated my iPod (ALL tracks now have corresponding album covers, yay!)
- Had a nightmare about some dude who tortures people with a stapler
- Thai (not Korean) BBQ with my bro
- Questioned sanity of Chinese mothers
- Rest, rest, rest

I want some taho and fishballs.
And also, a puppy (not to eat! As a pet, I mean.)

I'm sort of sad that the writers' strike is over. Why, you ask? Well now my TiVo queue is gonna start filling up again and I don't have time to watch all those shows anymore. Must cut some TV shows from the list.
