I LOVE iCARLY ♥

There I was, flippin' channels in my Niagara Falls hotel room  when I came across this wonderful Nickelodeon show.  I sat there and I watched an entire episode and I thought, "Hmm... this show is funny."  Unfortunately, I don't have cable at home so I didn't expect to catch it again.  Fastforward to me at the gym, flippin' channels while I was on an exercise machine.  iCarly was on.  I watched it and enjoyed it immensely.  I took note of the time and decided to reschedule my gym trips.  I can't watch iCarly at home, but dammit... I'm gonna watch it at the gym.  I burn my fat for you, iCarly!!!

And see, the original plan was to rent Mad Men on Netflix so I can have a marathon, but not anymore.  No, ma'am.  I'll be renting iCarly instead.

This video rocks me as much as iCarly does.

Dear Self:
Uh, because they are cute together -- DUH!

On Saturday I saw Cirque du Soleil's "Kooza" at the Santa Monica Pier with my sister. It was my first Cirque show ever and I really enjoyed it! I totally went on Netflix afterwards and rented all the Cirque DVDs. Maybe the next time I go to Vegas, I'll see another show! If only the tickets weren't so damn expensive...

Tomorrow I'm leaving work early because I'm gonna see Spring Awakening (again) with my cousin Demi! Woo hoo!!!! This is probably the 5th time I'm seeing it. And guess what? I'm going to see it one more time on November 21 with my cousins Mylene and Erin! Oh man, I'm so excited!

By the way, I've secured a ticket for Dreamgirls as well. Still debating whether or not I want to see Mary Poppins...

Grrrr... Arrrgghhh.
FOX canceled "Dollhouse." We'll always have Twitter, Eliza Dushku.

(Seriously, that girl is a bit crazy with her Twitter updates. I love it.)

Also -- Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon are the cutest married couple ever.

Sorry I've been MIA, gentle readers. It's because I went on a short vacation! Man, oh man, it was so nice to be far far away from the library. I visited [profile] cali_b and [livejournal.com profile] portiapm in Virginia with [livejournal.com profile] peakin75 and [livejournal.com profile] corrismatic. We shopped a lot and ate a-plenty. I also revisited Washington D.C. because the in-flight movie I saw was Night at the Museum and I just had the urge to go to the Museum of Natural History. Oooh... oooh!!!!  I got a full-body massage too!!!  It was my first time!  Anyways, I had the best time with my bestest friends :)

I know this is long overdue, and some of you are probably sick of hearing about this already cuz hey... you could care less.  But I feel like I should speak my piece.  Michael Jackson passed away last Thursday and I'm still sort of... wow... damn... you know?  I mean, I wasn't all broken up about it or anything.  I didn't cry, I just... idk... now there's a gaping hole in that part of myself that appreciated music and dance.  I mean, almost all of the performers that I've come to love was inspired by this man.  And now that he's gone, I start to wonder, "Well... who's next?  Who's gonna be the person that all other pop performers are going to aspire to?"  I am drawing a blank.

Let's backtrack.  I might have been 6 or 7 years old and I remember listening to "Billy Jean" IN VINYL.  Like, what?  Dudes, I was a little kid in the Philippines who barely understood English and I knew who Michael Jackson was.  I actually thought "Billy Jean" was about a dude named Billy who was not Michael Jackson's son.  LOL!  But anyways... his stuff is fucking international.  I do wonder what the 6-year olds in the Philippines are singing right now.  Britney?  Beyonce?  Justin?  Usher?  Fucking Miley Cyrus?  Will any of the performers I just mentioned have the same impact as Michael Jackson 25 years from now?  It's kind of hard to imagine.

Anyways, I leave you with one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs ever.  I know it's quite the unconventional choice, but it has Janet Jackson in it and that alone makes the song pretty fucking epic.  Good day, LiveJournal.

I know this is about 6 days late, but... LAKERS ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!! I was at the Hearthstone Lounge at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel with my friend Kamilla when it happened. I gotta say, the place needs a big flat screen TV. I had to check my cellphone for scores cuz their TV was so small that I couldn't see what was happening! Anyways, we chilled and had a couple of drinks and enjoyed our time at Disneyland where a whole bunch of people were sporting their Laker gear. It made me so happy.

I didn't get to go to the parade cuz I'm such an awesome LMU employee, but a couple of my cousins were there and I'm so jealous! I want Puppet!Kobe as much as I want Puppet!Angel.

Packin' up my office... movin' to a new library in a few weeks! I'm going to lose my office, but look... they're giving me a Pam Beesley counter!

***

The commute home: OLD version
LMU > Santa Monica Bus > Metro Green Line > Dad or bro picks me and my mom up from the station > HOME

But since my mom's work got relocated and she's being such a difficult old woman, I've decided "to hell with this, you deal with your own rides and I'll deal with mine."  I didn't care if it took me longer to get home just so I don't have to deal with her anymore.  So...

The commute home: NEW version
LMU > Santa Monica Bus > Metro Green Line > Metro bus > long walk home > HOME

It takes about 3 hours... as opposed to one.

Public transportation hasn't been good to me either!  I even changed my work schedule so that I can leave the office by 4:30, but I keep missing the train or the bus by 5 seconds so I have to wait 15-25 minutes for the next one.  Blah.  And no, I'm still not gonna start driving.

Anyways, back to work!

There was a fatal car accident near LMU today. An old man waiting for the bus was killed. What's even scarier is that I'm very very VERY familiar with the area. My bus stops at that same bench that was wrecked. I mean, that could have been me. Sometimes when I'm waiting for the bus, I'd think, "What if a car goes out of control and hits me?" Now I'd be thinking about it more often than I did. ::sighs:: The paranoia will drive me crazy.

No, I haven't lost any weight. But it sure does wonders to my energy level. Well, that and my early morning naps. I've decided to skip going to the coffee stand in the morning, giving me enough time to take a nap in the library staff lounge before my 8:00AM shift. Then after the nap, I wake up refreshed... I go to my office... work a little... then go to the gym at lunch...

And since exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins makes you happy, I'm all energized the rest of the day!

Oooh, let me tell you about my weekend of MUSIC, dudes.
On Saturday I went to Bamboozle Left with my friend (and ex co-worker) Ashley and we had a BLAST. Paramore and Jimmy Eat World rocked my socks off and guess what? Despite the thick mass of people, we managed to get up to the barricades up front!!! How awesome is that?!! I'm tellin' ya... Ashley can REALLY squeeze through crowds. I was amazed. Even when we left our spot to grab some lunch, we were able to get back to that same exact area afterwards.

Unfortunately, I missed The Cab's performance because they went up early while we were waiting in line to get in. I was so disappointed. But anyways, we did see other bands: The Morning Light (who were so adorable that I actually bought their EP), Rookie of the Year, The Starting Line, Story of the Year, Alkaline Trio, Daphne Loves Derby, RX Bandits, The Bouncing Souls, Face to Face...

But the best ones were still Jimmy Eat World and frigging PARAMORE!!!!!!
GAH! Hayley Williams owned that shit!

On Sunday, Ashley and I saw Jason Mraz at the Troubadour!!! OMG, I love love love that guy. I took lots of photos, but since I'm still experimenting with my new camera, a lot of them turned out grainy. Here's a couple anyway :)

Am I the only one who's not too thrilled about Panic at the Disco's latest album? It's been getting good reviews from my f-list, but I was just "meh" about it. There were a few choice lyrics that I dug, of course, but I cannot "dance to this beat," man. It's a bit too laid back for me and I was expecting to get my disco on... this is why I listen to Cobra Starship instead.

***

Received one of the most wonderful MySpace messages ever. It was very VERY encouraging, especially from someone who is a few years younger than me. Oddly enough, I really do look up to her in terms of... just... guts, you know? And "chillaxability." Ya know, it's not too difficult for me to find happiness in the smallest of things, but as I get older I've realized that that quality about me is slowly disappearing. I need it back.

God, seriously... I miss television. LOL! Ya know, I remember back in my YA days people used to tell me that my obsession was becoming unhealthy... well now I'm certainly yearning for another unhealthy obsession to cure my even more unhealthy adult state.

And on that note...
I want to do this in an empty library:

I didn't think so.

Oh, and let me tell you the shit I had to go through just to install that mother. I didn't know I needed to use an installer to uninstall the beta version so I just dragged it to the trash bin like I was s'posed to. BAD IDEA. Cuz when I tried to install the legit version, it kept detecting traces of the beta version and refuses to load. When I found out that I had to use the installer to uninstall, it was too late. I'd already emptied my trash bin and all these Photoshop files that needed to be uninstalled were now considered "missing." So guess what I had to do???!!!!!!!!!!

I had to restore my MacBook back to its factory settings. Yep... I had to start all over again. Fun times. But at least now I have a shiny new Photoshop. Which, again, I am not sharing with anybody.
