I got a new TiVo. I named him John Casey.  It was the last thing I needed to buy in able to complete my room.  So now I can finally say that the "renovation" is officially done.  Goodbye, fire.  Farewell, smoke stains.  Adios, charred wall.  So long, burn marks on the carpet.

BEFORE

AFTER

Click here to see the photos. )

Yay. And it only took me 2 months. LOL!!! Special thanks to Mr. Clean, BEHR, Home Depot, FLOR.com, and Target. I should also thank my dad because he totally moved all my furniture and ripped out the old yucky carpet from my floor. Oh, and my co-worker Jamie because she gave me her discount code for FLOR.com! I saved mucho money on the carpet tiles!

I guess one of the other major change in my room is the number of beds. There used to be two, you know, and now there's only one. I definitely appreciate the extra space... although now I don't know where to dump my dirty clothes.

***

Today's Awesome List
  • My room is officially done.
  • I love my new carpet.
  • My new TiVo kicks ass.  I can watch streaming HD videos from Netflix!
  • Caught up with my friend Will after not seeing him for a year.
  • My cellphone bill did not look too horrible this month (even with all the roaming charges from my trip to Canada.)
  • SYTYCD is back and I love Alex Wong.
  • I was able to sleep in until 12:30pm today!

Hi!!!  Remember me?  Let us talk about Skins:
WHAA--?!!?!!
the end.

(Honestly, though, I got spoiled.  My cousin @-replied Kaya Scodelario on Twitter and I thought, "Oooh!!! Cute Twitter name!  Who is this @kayascollywogs?"  I followed the link and before I knew it, the damn chick spoiled me.  I mean, how are you gonna put a major spoiler on your Twitter?!!!  All I could do while watching the episode was speculate on how "it" was gonna happen and I must say... I didn't see it happening THAT way.)

***

I want to take a shower, but I can't.  My dad is fixing the sink in the bathroom and IT STANKS.  It smells like rust and shit-water.  Eww.

***

I've been cleaning and reorganizing my room.  My sister has moved out a couple of years ago so there's no reason for her to still have her stuff in here.  After a very satisfying Korean BBQ lunch, she came home and sorted out her junk.  We threw away 3 trash bags full of stuff and set aside another bag with things that she wants to give away. The result -- MORE STORAGE SPACE FOR ME!!!  I cleaned and reorganized until 4:30am this morning and I went to sleep thinking that I won't wake up until 1pm, but I was so wrong.  I woke up at 10:00am and couldn't go back to sleep.  Booooo.  (I did take an amazing nap at 3pm today, though, so that makes up for it!)

***

Now that the Olympics are over, I've been catching up on some movies and TV shows.  As you've read, I'm finally caught up with Skins.  I'm also working my way through Project Runway and was able to finally watch The Princess and the Frog and Precious.  Oh, btw... I bought tickets to see Alice in Wonderland at the El Capitan Theater on March 27.  I'm excited to see the movie in 3D, but I'm even more excited to see the props and costumes after the show!

***

Anyways... gotta go see about the stank outside.  If it's cleared, I'll go take that shower.  Bye!

Um... it still stanks like hell.  How am I gonna take a shower, OMG??!!!!!  Shampoo in the kitchen sink???  We'll see.

P.S. New LJ layout, y'all.  The old one wasn't working for some reason.  Perhaps it was a sign that I needed a new one.

My workplace. Let me show you it.

You can find more pics on my Facebook. Go ahead, check em out!

And look!  My student worker Rea gave me a couple of Dunnies!!!

Speaking of work... Meghan-bear is leaving LMU.  The poor girl never really got a chance to take a break after college so now she's going to try to travel and volunteer and find herself.  I am truly happy for her... but we've worked together for 5 years and I will miss her so.

Anyways... so like, on Tuesday night I had a dream that I had to reprogram all the doors on the 1st floor of the library.  Fucking A... not only is door programming taking over my life, it's also making appearances in my subconscious.  So I woke up at 1:30AM and all I could think of was work!  I couldn't go back to sleep!  2:30 rolled by... then 3:30... then 4:00...

At 4:30AM, I just said "Fuck it.  Ain't no way I can function at work like this."  I got up, emailed my department, and told them that I dreamed about doors and I haven't been able to sleep.  I took Wednesday off.  It was actually the best decision ever because Thursday and Friday were a breeze!!!  There were small problems here and there, but I felt like I was really given a mental break.  I can finally relax a little bit :)

I even try to trick myself, you know? I'll go to bed at 9:30 PM, thinking that if I slept early I can sleep for 8.5 hours but nooooooooo. My body would wake me up at 4:00 AM! WTF??? I didn't sleep early so I can wake up earliER, you bastard! I slept early so I can sleep longer! Ugh, being a grown-up sucks!

Gone with the Wind on #1 makes me sad. Am I the only one who didn't like that movie? It sucks cuz the movie was probably great story-wise, but I just hate Scarlett O'Hara so much that she ruined the entire film for me. I know, I know... a lot of people have reasons why she's such a strong and admirable character, but frankly the bitch just annoyed me. Like, stop it, Scarlett. Stop being... the way you are.

Counting down the days until the holiday break...

Did you know that I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet? Oh how I miss the days when my parents used to buy the presents for the family. Now that responsibility has landed on me and my sister. We were doing fine, but now the money's kinda' tight and we have A LOT of cousins. Alas, we shall resort to $10 gift cards. So if you're my cousin and you're reading this blog entry, you WILL get a $10 gift card.

Next year I'm totally organizing a Secret Santa thing. I'm sure my over-21 cousins would appreciate this ::crosses fingers:: I doubt me and my sister are the only ones who have inherited the burden of buying presents for everybody...

The Library Christmas party is today! I'm so ready to eat! And then tomorrow the dean of the library (my boss) is having a party at her house so I'm going there too. Mmm... food.

Am I the only one who's not too thrilled about Panic at the Disco's latest album? It's been getting good reviews from my f-list, but I was just "meh" about it. There were a few choice lyrics that I dug, of course, but I cannot "dance to this beat," man. It's a bit too laid back for me and I was expecting to get my disco on... this is why I listen to Cobra Starship instead.

Received one of the most wonderful MySpace messages ever. It was very VERY encouraging, especially from someone who is a few years younger than me. Oddly enough, I really do look up to her in terms of... just... guts, you know? And "chillaxability." Ya know, it's not too difficult for me to find happiness in the smallest of things, but as I get older I've realized that that quality about me is slowly disappearing. I need it back.

God, seriously... I miss television. LOL! Ya know, I remember back in my YA days people used to tell me that my obsession was becoming unhealthy... well now I'm certainly yearning for another unhealthy obsession to cure my even more unhealthy adult state.

I hate it when the clock strikes 1AM during weekdays cuz that's usually when I have to go to sleep. Don't get me wrong, I love to sleep, but I also love it when I am awake, enjoying every second that I'm NOT at work. This week's gonna be... bleh. I have this extra Wicked ticket for a show on Wednesday, you see, cuz one of my cousins backed out. I also have "plans" to go out with someone on Thursday. But she's not really into planning things, so I might end up getting the details at the last minute and I HATE doing last minute stuff. So after Christmas, me and the girl cousins hit the mountains to play with snow. The problem is, the snow sucked at Mt. Baldy. We couldn't even make a snowman cuz the snow won't stick together. We did, however, find a half-snowman that someone built and decided to complete it ourselves. We named it Angelina (after this little girl who kept following us. She actually found the block of ice that we used for the head, LOL!)

Anyways... it was hella freaking cold there. When we checked, it was 19 degrees. We had to take the ski lifts and the wind was freaking blowing against our faces. Oh, and I also slipped on a patch of ice and hurt my arm :(

Then we had a sleepover :D
Spent most of my time trying to connect to their crappy wireless internet, but I still had a blast!!! The next day we all saw Juno and we all LOVED it!!! Lunch at Chili's afterwards where we ate our desserts in a shot glass and they were very yummy.

Today, I fell asleep on the train. It's nothing new, really. I always take naps when I'm aboard the Metro. But today... today something happened. Today, I actually MISSED MY FRAKKING STOP!!!! GAAAH!!! I mean, check this... I dozed off somewhere in Long Beach and when I woke up, I was in frakking El Segundo. I was like, "Dude... the train station looks A LOT different from this angle!" And then I thought, "Wait a minute... where the hell am I?"

LMAO!!!

So I got off the next stop and took the train back to Aviation. I felt like such an idiot! I've been taking that same train to work everyday for YEARS!!! And sure... I was only knocked out for 15 minutes, but that was some DEEP SLEEP, yo!!! I have got to start going to bed early!!

I loff my student workers. I do, I do, I do.
Today I got a call from Meghan and she was all, "Hey. I'm at Starbucks. Do you want anything?"

Oh, it's music to my ears. What a great way to say "Good Morning." I told her to get me a venti caramel macchiato and a blueberry scone and she was all, "Sure!" When I asked her how much I owed, she said "Don't worry about it! My treat!" *SQUEE* It definitely made up for my Metro train mishap :)

I'm finally caught up with Battlestar Galactica!!! Whew! My old boss was like, "Did you watch it yet? Did you watch it yet?? I'm dying to talk to someone!" LOL! I love my job :D

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

stop accidentally touching my thigh
unless you mean it.

and you don't have to
tell me about other men-
I know
you're gorgeous.

my stare is more than listening.

it's intention
and desire.

we need to fuck the old
that is creeping into
our system.

we need to be
here now.

I sprayed Kenneth Cole BLACK on both my wrists. Now I just feel sad.
Good thing Sephora didn't carry "Still" by J-Lo.

I told myself that I need to be in bed by midnight.
