- "Over the Moon" from RENT

Some people were asking me about my RENT experience at the Hollywood Bowl last night and I kept gushing about Nicole Scherzinger so I thought I should just show y'all how awesome she was.

Over the Moon

Take Me Or Leave Me

Oh man, seriously guys.  I'm very particular with my Maureens, but Nicole totally pulled it off!  GAH!  And her making out with Tracie Thoms was so totally hot!

So there I was, watching RENT for the 4th time in my life...

I was so excited because Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were reprising their roles as Roger and Mark, and another original member, Gwen Stewart, was also there as the "Seasons of Love" soloist. A couple of other people came from the Broadway show as well -- AND it's weird cuz like, they're in my "filmed LIVE on Broadway" DVD! Heee!!! Justin Johnston, you are my favorite Angel!!!!!

Anyways, so there I was, watching RENT for the 4th time in my life...
When I saw frigging KEVIN SMITH walking down the aisle!!!

I was like, "Dude... that's frigging Kevin Smith!!!" And as if she read my mind, the woman sitting next to me said, "That's Kevin Smith, isn't it???!" I... didn't know what to do!!! He was sitting on the same row as me on the other side of the theatre! I wanted to get a picture so badly! I mean, the guy changed the way I see things, yo. Opened up my mind forrealz.

Cut to: Intermission
The internal struggle was legit, dudes. Should I? Should I approach him? I mean, he was sitting RIGHT THERE! Then finally I decided that YES -- I will ask for a photo. So I stood up, walked towards him, when all of a sudden he was gone!!! Aaaah!!! My cousin Demi called me on my cellphone wondering where I was (we're sitting in different sections) so I started chatting with her. I thought to myself, "Nah... it's ok if I don't get a pic with Kevin Smith. Nevermind. I'll just meet Demi." So blah blah blah, I was talking to Demi in the phone when suddenly she said, "OMG... SILENT BOB JUST WALKED PAST ME!!!"

Meep!!! That means he's coming back to his seat!! I braced myself and watched him walk down the aisle. I started to approach him, and then decided not to. But then I changed my mind!! And... then... I turned back around. Oh but he's sitting my himself!!! But... maybe he doesn't want to be bothered...

I pretended that I was looking for somebody, so I just walked up and down the aisle right next to him, avoiding his eyes. He probably knew that I was there to talk to him and that I wasn't really looking for anybody. I suck. After pacing the aisle for the 5th time, my eyes noticed the huge bald spot on his head. Then I thought to myself, "Dude... he's just a regular guy with a bald spot. Go talk to him NOW." So I did.

"Hi, Mr. Smith? Is it okay if I get a picture with you?"
Yeah, sure! But... I don't think we're allowed to take pictures in here right now.
"Oh, ok. Well, thanks anyway!"

*I turned around and started to leave*

Well, maybe after the show?
"Oh! Okay! Thank you so much!"

*I started to leave again, but...*

"Um... thanks again. I just... wanted to shake your hand."

*The humiliation has eaten me up inside and am now ded*
*Kevin Smith extended his hand and I shook it*

"Thanks... again... thank you."
Sure, sure! No problem!
"If I see you after the show, I'll get that picture. But if not, it's been nice meeting you!"
You too! Thanks!

I realized afterwards that I didn't even tell him my name. After the show, I tried looking for him again but he either a) left already or b) got mobbed by fans so I couldn't see him. Man, I was such a dork! Of all the things I could have said to him I actually went with "I just... wanted to shake your hand?" I mean, I could have said "Chasing Amy is one of my favorite movies." Or "Zack and Miri Make A Porno is the most romantic film I've seen this year." I mean, I wanted to give him props for his work, man. But... nooooooooo. God! *headdesk*

RENT was awesome, by the way. The chick who played Maureen sounded very shrill, but she was funny and nice. I was disappointed because couldn't get everyone's autographs, but I had a lot of fun. As long as this show is touring, I will keep watching :)

- "My Sweet Time" by Alexz Johnson

Man alive, it is hot as hell today. I do not like.

I'm leaving for New York early tomorrow morning. It might be raining when I arrive.

The weather hates me.

But OMG, so excited!!!!

I do not care about American Idol. For the first time in the show's history, I'm not gonna be voting.

I'm pretty much "bleh" about television nowadays. The only thing I get really REALLY excited about is frigging BONES. Cuz OMG, it rules.

SYTYCD this Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My work computer died last Tuesday. I panicked because it had all the important (and confidential) information about the library. Luckily the IT department came through for me, bt I don't know yet if any files are missing. I guess I won't find out until I try to look for something specific and it's not there.

I had drinks with Ray-Ray and Ron at the Custom Hotel yesterday and it was great! And dudes, the bathrooms had sound effects! Crashing waves and all! I guess to help people pee? I was dying!! And the little shelf in the stalls where they put the toilet papers? They're like, little flat mirrors. So the bathrooms are totally equipped for snorting coke. Yay!

Eep!!! I want to be in New York already!!! RENT and Spring Awakening, here I come!

I don't know why but I'm soooo obsessed with this dance routine! This has got to be the best SYTYCD opening number EVER!!! OMG, Wade Robson is my hero!!! He went all Creepy!Cool with the zombie getup! He should totally become a full-time choreographer in this show! That'll be sooo fricking awesome!

HEE! I'm so giddy! I love love love love love love LOVE this routine!!! As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go watch it again!

BTW, if anybody has Roisin Murphy's Ramalama (Bang Bang), please send it me! PLEASE!??
I'll love you forever and ever and ever!!!

Going to see RENT tonight!
I'm so excited! I have orchestra seats! Well, they're not GREAT orchestra seats, but I'm actually gonna be faaaaaaar away from the nosebleed section for once! Woot! Plus, my cousins are going with me! Hee! I think I'm actually gonna hit Hollywood before heading to the theatre. I'mma walk around and window-shop for a while. You know, have some good old-fashioned "me" time :D

Going back to New York on Saturday!
Yep, it's gonna be hot and humid as hell, but I'll be with my homegirl Joanna so it's gonna be a blast!!! I haven't finished packing yet so hopefully I'll have some time tonight when I get back from RENT. Ack! I hope I don't forget anything! Like my toothbrush!!! Or underwear!

I'm bringing my laptop so expect some updates from time to time. I'm really aiming to have my "Live from New York, it's Saturday night" post as soon as I get settled in my hotel room :) Plus, I simply must have the Internet so I can check the SYTYCD spoilers! LMAO!

Well, that's about it for me. Next time I come back, I'll be posting from NYC! MWAH! Love you all :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [ profile] shadys_lane!!!

Hello. My weekend was boring. How about yours?

I think I stayed in bed for hours and hours and hours.
I slept, I daydreamed, I watched Doctor Who, I listened to some music...

(I had Annie Lennox and Me'shell Ndegeocello on repeat.)

And um... that's about it.
Oh, yeah... I've been posting on IdolForums A LOT. 2 days in and I already have 74 posts! Huzzah!!!

Cookies 'n Cream ice cream at 11:36pm. YUM.

Why do I insist on watching last Thursday's SYTYCD results show? It makes me feel super depressed and yet I keep pressing that "play" button on my TiVo remote control. Why must I do this to myself?!!!

Oh yeah, so I can see this cuddling action right here:

I'm still pissed at the producers for splitting up Benji and Donyelle. I mean, for the love of Jeebus!!! They'd done taken away the best thing that's ever happened to the show!!!

I'm SOOOO gonna see RENT this Friday!!! Woot! And then the day after that I'm heading back to New York! So this means I have to start packing by Wednesday or Thursday! Oy... everything is moving too fast! I haven't even picked a Broadway musical to watch yet!

Well, I gotta get going now. But in the meantime, enjoy my random YouTube video of the day: Ten Things I Hate About Commandments

I gave in. I read "the wank." I usually stay away from things like this. But I guess I couldn't ignore it anymore. I blame my f-list, of course :D

Now, I've read a few comments about this in-depth "investigative report." Some people said things like...
This is sad, OR
This person has too much time in her hands, OR
So-and-so should just get over it

But me? OMG, I felt like I hit a gold mine! THANK YOU to whoever wrote it! I craved every chapter, man. I was totally into it.

So yes. I enjoyed the damn thing and I'm not sorry. )

I couldn't get tickets to Wicked :( The bastards!!!

Anyway, I was afraid that my cousin Demi would be upset, so to make up for my failed ticket-buying attempt, I'm taking her to see RENT instead. Woo hoo!!!! So me, Erin, and Demi may not be defying gravity in August... but we sure are gonna be singing along to "Seasons of Love" in July :D

My Deep Discount DVD order finally came!!!! Oh, I'm *SO* gonna have a movie marathon this weekend!!! What movie should I watch first?

Stayed up until 4:00am. I was looking for more So You Think You Can Dance videos online when I came across Ryan Conferido's MySpace. And from there, I found Melody Lacayanga's MySpace and so on and so forth. And then I thought... "I wonder what the Season 1 contestants are up to nowadays?" Well, after reading all of their amusing blog entries, comments, and messages, this is what I found out...

Apparently, once you find one of them you'll find the rest. Cuz they REALLY still do keep in touch. )

My sister thought it would be a great idea to take the train all the way to Sherman Oaks. Except it's not just one train... it's 3 trains and a bus. So we convinced our brother Lew to come with us and headed out. Took the green line from Norwalk to Long Beach. Took the blue line from Long Beach to Los Angeles. Took the red line from Los Angeles to Hollywood. Then took the 750 bus from Hollywood to Sherman Oaks. We chilled at the Sherman Oaks galleria for a while, then I chowed down on some Dulce de Leche cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.

Headed back. Took the WRONG bus and almost ended up at Foothill. Had to get off... took a bus back to the galleria so we can take the correct one back to Hollywood. Got off at Hollywood and Highland. Went to Sephora. Got some Cold Stone ice cream. Tested several massagers at Brookstone. Found Keanu Reeves' star at the Walk-Of-Fame. Sandra Bullock's star is right next to his. Saw the hand/foot prints of the Star Trek cast in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre...

My sister went to the bathroom and saw "Kellie Pickler WAS HERE!" written on the wall. Felt a sudden surge of Elliot and Taylor-love so I went and stood outside of the Kodak Theatre. Speaking of Taylor...

Why is this guy not being featured on 'Scrubs' and 'Grey's Anatomy'? These songs are so TV-worthy! )

Went to see Hairspray at the Pantages Theatre. Man, it was funny as hell! Anyways, I was flipping through my Playbill and I found a sooper sekrit ad for RENT tickets. See, it's supposed to go on sale on June 4th, but Pantages is already making it available for us cool people who seem to be there every week. So after the show, I went straight to the box office and I bought a coupla' tickets for me and my cousin Erin. July 21st, bitchessss!!!! My second viewing of RENT! Woo hoo!

And guess what? I got orchestra seats!!! Woo hoo!!! I haven't had a seat in the orchestra section since I saw The Lion King years ago! And not only that... I'm seeing an 8:00pm show as well! Now, I've always attended matinee shows, but this time around I'm actually gonna see one at night! Dinkin flicka, baby! Dinkin flicka :)

The only downside is that I'm leaving for New York the next day and I'm gonna be sooo wiped!

That's right, guys!!! I finally got my RENT dvd today!!! I watched the documentary in the "Special Features" section and cried my eyes out. Yeah, I'm a sucker. I actually can't wait to listen to the commentaries becuse I'm a dork.

Anyways, along with RENT, I also got Crash, The Italian Job, Sabrina, Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's. I'm *SO* gonna have a movie marathon this weekend!!!

In other news, I totally missed the first hour-and-a-half of American Idol. I'm such an idiot. I forgot to reprogram my TiVo so it ended up recording a rerun of Veronica Mars. Anyways, that didn't stop me from getting my vote on. So for the MEN's Round #1, I voted for:

Chris Daughtry
Elliott Yamin
Jose "Sway" Penala (but only cuz he's Pinoy. I'll support him until he gets kicked out.)
Taylor Hicks
Ace Young (who's not really my favorite, but he's cute. Frankly, he cannot out-sexy Tori Amos' version of "Father Figure.")

By the way, now that I've recieved my RENT dvd, I figured that it's about time to change my desktop wallpaper. So um... I made a Scrubs one. Woot!

BTW: If you want the wallpaper, just let me know. Gimme the dimensions of your computer screen and I'll do some re-configuring :D Then I'll email the wallpaper to ya. Or I'll post a link on my LJ.

Alrightee. American Idol Round #1, the WOMEN. My votes went to:

Paris Bennett
Melissa McGhee
Lisa Tucker
Kinnik Sky
Katharine McPhee

Tomorrow, the MEN. I know I'm already voting for Sway cuz, you know, I gotta give it up for my countrymen. But yeah, I'm definitely all about the gray-haired guy.

(Heee! I love American Idol season because I actually get to use my cellphone! How big of a loser am I?)
(And even though I get annoyed with all the busy signals, they still make me happy cuz that means that my favorite contestants are getting a lot of votes!)
(I know, I know... I have Cingular and I can just send a text message "vote," but I don't really like "texting." They cost extra money.)

You know, I find it odd that I haven't watched a single Olympic event this year. I mean, I usually obsess over shit like this, man. I LIVED FOR speed skating! But right now? No interest whatsoever! What the heck is going on???

And speaking of weird happenings, Dude... Where's My RENT DVD? I'm supposed to get it tomorrow, yo. But there seems to be a lot of inactivity up at People, when tells you that it's time to pick up Jill's package, you pick up Jill's package!!! I don't care if it's supposed to take 5-7 business days! I usually get my shit in 3 days or less!

There goes the weekend.

I must say, I had a pretty good four days off. I slept in, had a Scrubs marathon, and ate a home-cooked meal. It was fantastic, yo. But as usual when I'm having fun time goes by so quickly. So guess what? It's Monday again!

Anyways, here's a recap of the last two days...

- Hooked up with my old friend Crimson. Since all of our elementary school friends were having mini weekend reunions in the Philippines, we thought that we should have one too! So we went to Cerritos Town Center and watched RENT (her first time, my second). She said that it was a tiny bit raunchy for her taste, but she enjoyed it a lot. And I, once again, bawled during "Glory," "Without You," "I'll Cover You (Reprise)," "Your Eyes," and "Finale B."
- Sidenote: While we were buying our tickets, the chick at the ticket booth got all excited when we told her that we're seeing RENT. She said, "Ohmygod! It is so good. I'm so happy you're watching it!" Tee hee!!! Methinks she's a RENThead.
- Anyways, after the movie we went to Starbucks and got some hot cider. We also took pictures so we can upload it to my elementary school's Yahoo!Groups. While waiting for our orders, I revealed to Crimson that my Starbucks name is "Buffy." The kid at the cash register overheard us and started laughing. I have a feeling she's a BTVS fan.
- When I got home, Crimson hung around for a little bit. We found out that one of our elementary school friends is now living in Cali (about 5 minutes away from my house) so we decided to meet up sometime before the New Year.
- Then, for some reason, Harry Potter came up. And it's weird too because we've never EVER talked about HP before. So imagine my surprise when she started the conversation with this: Okay, I know it's supposed to be Ron and Hermione, BUT... )

- Speaking of HP... guess what? I've finally fulfilled my GoF quota. Yep, you heard me. I watched the movie again this weekend. So yes, I've seen it 3 times total. I am now satisfied.
- Went to ULTA with my sister. While she browsed through the makeup section, I checked out the foot spa aisle. Long story short, she's gonna buy me an electric foot massager for Christmas. Best. Christmas. Present. Ever. My feet will be forever grateful. I can just... step on the foot pads and feel the vibrations :)

Thanksgiving plans to see RENT fell through. I arrived at my aunt's house with la familia and got our grub on (with one of the worst Thanksgiving feast ever, I might add.) Then I saw my cousin Erin and asked her if she's seen RENT yet. She said "yes" and thought it was pretty awesome. So I told her that I desperately wanted to see the movie she said, "Well... my sister hasn't seen it yet. And I'd love to see it again..."

Plans were made and my other cousins signed up to go, and seriously... I offered to pay for everyone because I was THAT desperate to get people to go with me. Anyways, I stuffed myself with pumpkin pie and headed to the almost-empty movie theatre -- which made us giddy because we can sing along to the songs without anyone bothering us. Except it was the worst movie theatre ever and it almost ruined my RENT experience.

First of all the projector got stuck, and for 10 minutes the movie screen was split in two. Then all of a sudden the voice of Johnny Cash came through the speakers and TOTALLY sang over RENT's most heart-wrenching scene. And I was like, "Oh HELLZ NO, Joaquin Phoenix!!! I'm not here to see your movie!!! NOW GET OUT!!!!" (Sidenote: I *do* want to see Walk the Line, but not at the expense of RENT.)

Not to mention that a couple of my cousins probably have never seen two guys kiss before, so everytime there's a same-sex makeout scene, they sniggered or laughed or said "Ewww!" I totally sank into my chair and wished that I was never associated with them. But my 12-year-old cousin was pretty cool, though... at some point during the movie she leaned over to me and said, "The drag queen looks REALLY good as a guy... AND as a girl." Which was uber-cute, granted that she looks like she's about 6 years old. *giggles*

The movie was awesome, by the way. As expected, I cried buckets... buckets as in "10 times more than I cried in GoF." And yes, I sang along with the songs. I even danced a little. Towards the end my 12-year-old cousin (who looks like she's about 6) started singing too but the only lyrics she knew were "No day but today" so she just sang that over and over again. All in all it was a pretty... interesting experience. I'm never going back to THAT theatre ever again, but I'm gonna see the movie for the second time on Saturday.

Viva la vie boheme!

Damn, my sister could be so flaky sometimes. She was my main RENT buddy, you know? And now, because of her flakiness, my RENT plans are slowly going to heck. But I must, must, must, MUST see this movie, dammit. I just... hate watching a movie alone the first time around. Second or third? Sure. But not the first time. *sighs* I dunno... I might just blow my Thanksgiving dinner for this. Just go to the movie theatre instead of my aunt's house, you know? I mean... I see my frickin' family every frickin' week because every frickin' week, there's a frickin' family gathering. Like, seriously. Sometimes you just have to... NOT be there. And I mean, I have lots to be thankful for, but seeing RENT would definitely be the whipped cream to my Thanksgiving pumpkin pie. *sighs* I'll see what I can do.

Speaking of movies --
I called my brother on my way home from work and before I hung up the phone, he said, "Wait! What are you doing tonight?" And I said, "Nothing. Why?" And he said, "I was wondering if you'd like to see Harry Potter with me." I said, "Of course!!!" And he said, "Cool." So one hour later, I was in the movie theatre with my brother, watching GoF. Fun times :D He had plenty of questions cuz he was a bit confused, but he really enjoyed the dorkiness of Harry and Ron. (I'd say he can see a bit of himself in them). Anyways, the following conversation took place between us (Um... yeah, we do talk in movie theatres. Sue us.)

Brother: Ugh! Whattafuck? Whassamatter with Ron?
Me: Huh?
Brother: Ron!!! He's such a... a...
Me: Um... what?
Brother: A... what's the word?
Me: Drama queen?
Brother: YES!

Brother: Wait... why was Hermione crying?
Me: Didn't you hear them? It's because Ron said something pretty mean to her.
Brother: And?
Me: Well... supposedly she likes him.
Brother: WHY?!!

*jaw drops in amazement*
Seriously, I have no influence on him whatsoever. But honestly, the most apparent ship in the movie was Harry/Ron. They have that old married couple vibe. I just don't think my brother wants to admit it. Besides, he's all about screaming "Malfoy" in the shower.

Oh, I almost forgot. It's time for my weekly TV review. Wednesdays rule, man. (And I must mention this as a sidenote: I LOVE MY VCR. I was watching GoF while VM and LOST were on, and my Tivo can only record one show. So what did I do? I put the good ole' VCR to use. Hail the VCR!!!)

A big, fat SQUEE, man. Big, fat SQUEE.
The cast of RENT performed in The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday and I must say... Taye and Idina? Waaaaay too cute. I must've watched that segment 20 times in a row cuz I couldn't stop drooling all over myself. I mean, what a beautiful couple!!! Been together 10 years and still hot!

Anyway, my plans to see RENT this weekend is not looking good. My sister, who seemed so enthusiastic a couple of weeks ago, is now showing signs of disinterest. I don't even think she wants to see GoF anymore... which totally ruins my plan of seeing it three times. (NEWSFLASH: [ profile] connaka didn't like GoF and is not planning on seeing it again! Aaaah! Plans! Ruined!!! Ah, it's ok. We can just have lunch or something.) Bah. I miss being a part-time employee sometimes. Remember when I saw PoA twice in one day because I got off work at 2pm? Yeah, those were the good ole' days.

By the way... what's up with LJ not sending me email notifications? What's up with that? Anyone here having the same problem?

In other news, my elementary school friends in the Philippines just had another reunion. *sniffs* St. Joseph's class of 1994. I miss them all. But dang, it's weird chatting in a messageboard with them. Everybody's on Friendster and I'm like, "MySpace, bitchesss!!!"

Anyways... I'm so in love with this animation:

Yah. Weevil (my TiVo) is sick. His modem is busted so now I have to buy an external one. And since I don't want to deal with any of the setup issues that I had before, I don't wanna just buy a regular ole' modem. I wanna buy a plug-and-play TiVo-configured modem. Unfortunately, it's 70 bucks. So for now I'll just put my VCR to good use. And I need to get my butt on schedule again. I mean, how difficult is it to be in front of the TV by 9pm? I've done it before and I can do it again.

Still kinda sick. This sucks. It's one of those VERY slow-progressing colds.
Wednesday, throat feels iffy.
Thursday, throat is sore liek whoa.
Friday, mini-sniffles.
Saturday, DYING.
Sunday, sniffles.
Monday, snot galore.
Tuesday, still sniffling.
Wednesday, mini-sniffles.
Thursday, still recovering.

What will tomorrow hold?

Heh-neeway. My sister called me on the phone yesterday and said, "OMG! RENT is a movie???" And I was like, "Um... dude. Where have you been?" And my brother goes, "What's 'RENT'?" And I'm like, "It's a musical. But it's gonna be in the movie theatres soon." ANd he goes, "Really? How much?" And I said, "Uh... well, if you have a student ID, you can get a discount. Otherwise it's 9 bucks." ANd he laughed at me and said "No, how much do they pay for RENT?" Yeah, I got moded. My brother has a weird sense of humor like that. One time my sister bought a Member's Only jacket and my brother goes, "Oh, so you must be the last remaining member." I was dying.

Well, that's about it for me. Buh-bye.

Uh-oh. It's late October. Almost November. That means I'm gonna get sick any day now. As a matter of fact, my throat is kinda sore. Two days from now, I will have a full-blown cold. But I hope not because OMG, Jason Mraz concert on Friday!

Ouch. Painful swallowing.
(On a brighter note, I can't wait to use my sick leaves.)

Anyways... the new Harry Potter movie is drawing near and you know what that means...
I'm gonna start bombarding you all with pretty Dan and Emma pictures (again). But maybe not as much as I did last year. Cuz that was a little too insane.

And no, this was NOT cropped to my liking :D

ETA: Oh my lord, how awesome is this? The RENT cast on the cover of LIFE magazine!!! Yep, if you haven't gone to the RENT cast blogs yet, go now. They have a new video clip up with interviews and such. I think the magazine's coming out in November. But yes... Adam Pascal said that there's gonna be 3 different covers. So damn, I'm hunting them all down. (Remember when Rolling Stone had 6 different covers of the *NSYNC edition? LOL!!! It took me a while to collect 5 and I don't even have the 6th one yet.)

Quote of the day:
"Liou coe shway duh biao-tze huh hoe-tze duh bun ur-tze"
- River, Firefly

Hey, this is pretty cool. At the back of Finding Serenity (see "Currently reading") there's a glossary of Chinese terms that were used in the show. Today's "quote of the day" literally means "Stupid son of a drooling whore and a monkey." In Chinese. So broaden your vocabulary, people! Watch Firefly! LMAO!!!

Remember when the weekend came and you were all excited about it?

Remember when Monday came almost immediately?

Yep, that's kinda how my weekend felt.

Although I did sleep in and it was awesome. Sleeping in rulez. Plus, I spent 90% of my time at home. I went to the mall for a while and then I went right back to bed. I finished Memoirs of a Geisha which, I guess, was good in that "if-this-was-assigned-to-me-in-highschool-I-probably-wouldn't-fall-asleep" kind of way.

And I found out that my family's Comcast subscription includes a free Filipino channel!!! So I checked it out and well... lotsa' bad special effects and very BAD acting. I can't believe I used to crave this shit. It is so effing terrible I wanted to... rip out my arm just so I can have something to throw. The travel shows and the cooking shows are really good, though. They made mango shake using mango ice cream and I just got a little teary eyed because I miss all that crap. *sniffs* Oh, and the variety shows are still kick-ass. Nobody else can belt and sing like we do :D

BTW, I found a RENT movie buddy! Yep, it turns out that the little RENT previews that they played during the telecast of Chicago last weekend peaked [ profile] sleepymonster's interest. So this definitely makes me "el happi-yo" -- which is "happy" in fake-Spanish. LOL!!!

You surprise me, Monster! First Goblet of Fire and now RENT. Holiday movies rule!

Quote of the day:
Veronica: Got any enemies you know about?
Wallace: Well, there's the Klan.
- Veronica Mars

Yesterday was a nice day for the pretties.
* New (and quite smokin') picture of Daniel Radcliffe -- Check.
* Sexy interview with Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs -- Check.
* The men of Serenity photo shoot -- Check.
* Instant Star episodes on Comcast OnDemand -- Check.
* New tracks from Hill -- Check.

So... what about you? How's YOUR day going? Want a cookie? *admires my pretty cookie jar from IKEA*

Anyways, I'm in the process of getting used to MusicMatch. I'm having a hard time adjusting to it because there are different versions and I accidentally downloaded the one for regular use -- not the one for portable devices. *headdesk* Now I had to do it all over again and I dunno if I qualify for a Dell rebate. (If you sign up for MusicMatch OnDemand Portable, I'll get a 50$ rebate. But since I accidentally signed up for the non-portable one, I dunno if Dell will still give me the fifty bucks.)

Quote of the day:
Lilly: Check you out, Veronica Mars. You're like a rocker chick now. You and I, we'd have a lot of fun together. Yeah, if, um, if I wasn't dead and stuff.
Veronica: Why are you here?
Lilly: Don't you watch any horror movies? My soul is doomed to walk the earth until justice has been served.
Veronica: Really?
Lilly: Yeah, that, and as kinda a side project, I dispense fashion advice.
- Veronica Mars

- Ate at Chicago Ribs with my boss and my co-worker. Mmmm.... food. It was the first time that I "hung out" with them outside of the workplace so it was fun. Plus the fact that there's only three of us in our department definitely helped with the bonding experience.

- BTW, I finally got a new printer! Yep, the ITS people finally replaced my broke ass printer -- 2 months after I sent in the request. Anyways, it's black, it's shiny, it's fast, and it's WiFi. Heck, I'm already amazed that my laptop is WiFi and now my printer just hits me like BAM! With style and some sh*t. Oh, and I didn't know that my computer monitor was adjustable. Hey, it swivels too! Again, I'm already amazed by the fact that it's a flat screen, but wow... I didn't know that it can do all these other stuff. *sighs* I know nothing about technology.

- The people over at must know me VERY well. I finally got my RENT movie soundtrack in the mail and *gasp* guess who's on the CD cover? Maureen Johnson, a.k.a. Idina Menzel!!! See, the CDs come in 8 different covers, each one featuring individual characters from the movie. Well, just happen to send me the one with Idina on the cover and it's just sooo... fritty. That's "fine" and "pretty"... best of both worlds! Wow, if I can only collect all eight!

- Anyways, I went to WalMart with my sister because she needed to buy some groceries. God, I hate going to that store! It's so effing crowded, it takes us forever to go through the check-out line. On a brighter note, I got the Friends Season 2 DVD boxed set for only 19 bucks!!! Two more and my collection will finally be complete!!! Mwahahahah!!!

- Went to IKEA to buy a book shelf, but the book shelf didn't fit in my sister's car. So I came home and went to, only to find out that the site was under construction. Precious time was not wasted, however, for I ended up walking out of the store with a cookie jar and a techie-lookin' clock for my office.

- Sephora is teh crack. I didn't buy anything this weekend , mind you, but damn... I could spend hours in that store.

- Veronica Mars 2x02 - Driver Ed )

- I watched Serenity again [but with my brother this time]. I'm pleased to report that the movie theatre was pretty full. I guess the word got out, huh? Thanks to everyone who pimped this movie to the fullest. Unfortunately, more people means more theatre jackasses. Can you believe that a baby cooed, mumbled, and cried throughout the whole thing? People should NOT be allowed to bring their babies into the movie theatre!!! Just... no! And you know what else? The same family who had the crying baby, brought in their talkative children with them. So every five minutes, somebody would go "Mommy... what's happening? Daddy, why did the man shoot the guy? Mommy, that girl is SO cool. Daddy, what did the captain dude say?" Grrrrr! Arrrrghhh!!!! SHUT UP ANNOYING LITTLE KIDS! YOU WILL ALL GET BITCH-SLAPPED!!! And another thing -- on top of all the crying and the talking, there was some SNORING!!! Yes, this old man fell asleep during the movie and he was snoring up a storm! Like some phlegm... some chunky, hacking and gagging phlegm was caught in his throat. I was gonna smack someone!!! And everyone in the theatre was like, "Oh hellz no." But we can't do anything about it cuz you know... we didn't wanna miss any scenes or anything. *sighs* Oh well. It's his money in Joss Whedon's pocket.

ETA: Oh my god... this is one of the CUTEST pics EVER!!!
