On the Kanye/Taylor Swift issue:
I'm on Team Beyonce

On Patrick Swayze's death:
There's already been several celebrity deaths this year that I think I've been desensitized.

On my new iPhone:
I'm slowly making it my bitch.

On my health:
No more severe coughing. Voice is back to normal. A little phlegm here and there, but I'm fine.  However, due to the heat or... something, I've developed some kind of eczema on my neck.  It's disgusting.

On work:
I'm ready for a vacation.

On vacation:
Heading to Virginia on September 30!!!  Made a massage appointment :D

On Disney:
My cousins and I went to the D23 Expo last Sunday and had a blast!  Check out some of my pics

On television:
I've seen the premiere of "Bones" and "The Office."  I haven't seen last week's SYTYCD, nor have I seen the last two eps of "Top Chef" and "Project Runway."  No time for TV!!!!

My dad:
He's trying to set me up with some dude.  Ewwwww.  Hellz no.

My sister:
She's finally leaving her god-awful job and moving onto a better one.  We celebrated by eating at Fire+Ice in Anaheim.

Myself:

I... need to sleep.  Bye!

There's this creepy woman on my Facebook who faked her engagement.  It's like, weird.  I mean she's a grown-ass woman who's been dropping hints about being engaged and who finally announced that she was changing her last name and all of a sudden, "Tee hee!  J/K guyz!"  I'm not surprised though... I know she's one of those crazy Benjellers who made me realize that the Benjelle fandom had some crazy dangerous fucked up grown women who shouldn't be posting pics of sinking ships and biracial babies on Benji Schwimmer's MySpace page.

Life Without a TiVo: Day #5

I'm on the last chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  I'm confused, though, so I might have to read an online summary somewhere.  Dumbledore lost me somewhere between hallows and horcruxes and Harry's blood and Voldemort's soul and blah blah blah.  But still... Harry Potter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Twilight.  The number of deaths alone makes Harry Potter better than Twilight.

What's with these Mormon people from Utah coming to California to campaign for Prop 8??? Get out of my state, dammit. I still don't understand... the separation between church and state still holds right? Voting NO on Prop 8 will not ruin the "sanctity" of heterosexual marriage and it will not re-write the Bible. So what are these fuckers so worried about? I still don't get their reasoning. Fine, the church doesn't have to recognize gay marriage... but the state SHOULD.

P.S. This guy FTW.

And again... Utah, get out of my state. Go ballroom dancing instead. Or bring back "Big Love" already. I miss that show.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics. This is yet another example of McCain and Palin distorting the truth, and all the more reason to remember that this campaign is not about gender, it is about which candidate has an agenda that will improve the lives of all Americans, including women. The truth is, if you care about the status of women in our society and in our troubled economy, the best choice by far is Obama-Biden."

- Madeleine Albright

***

I watched the debate and I was sort of bored. Thank goodness for [livejournal.com profile] ontd_political. The wank in that community made everything bearable. A couple of McCain/Palin supporters dropped by to stir things up (as they always do), but I must say... this dude definitely takes the cake:

"I'm just amazed because I know if Obama gets elected I can see the way the world is going to go and it's scary because some certain book predicted it would go that way. As crazy as it may seem, it's the truth. I don't care if you think I'm crazy, I don't care if you think I'm ignorant, I don't care what you say about me, but I know a lot of things and I know both sides, and all I can do is pray."

Ok, back up like, 500 feet. SOME CERTAIN BOOK? Is he one of those crazy people who believes that Obama is the antichrist because the Bible said so? I... don't... get it. The weird thing is that this dude said that he's a Hillary supporter and the only reason he's voting for McCain is because of Palin. EH? See "quote of the day." Kthnx.

Anyways, I started watching "True Blood" (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] expatiates). I'm enjoying it so far, but I've yet to be OMG!Amazed. I also saw the season premiere of "Friday Night Lights" (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] hopelessfangirl!) but I was sort of disappointed cuz it didn't make me tear up like it usually does. Tyra is still awesome, though :D

I took a day off today and went to the dentist. She drill-baby-drilled on my teeth. Various areas of my mouth were injected with anesthesia and in the end, I can barely drink water cuz I couldn't feel my lips! Two hours later, my mouth was still numb, but I was so hungry that I had to eat. I gotta say, I couldn't taste anything at all!!!! It was so unsatisfying. I took a nap afterwards and when I woke up, the numbness was gone, but my mouth was hella sore! Yikes!

Anyways, I gotta get back to my internet activities now. See you all later!

The weekend has been going great so far. I'm getting some much-needed downtime and A LOT of sleep. Actually today I woke up at 2:30 PM and it was awesome. I think I need a new mattress, though. Everytime I wake up my back hurts and this Brookstone massager that I have is not making it any better.

Anyways, back to my weekend. I'm finally caught up with Degrassi and I must say, I'm a bit upset that my girl Deanna Casaluce isn't in the opening credits anymore. What the hell is up with that?!! They sank my ship and now they're taking my girl away? Bah.

Well, hello there. Merry Christmas Eve! Let me tell you what's the haps.

I'm finally caught up with Battlestar Galactica: RAZOR. Thank you, Netflix! I haven't read any of you guys' reviews cuz I didn't wanna spoil myself (shocker!) but holy DAMN, that was good. I really really enjoyed it and now I'm thinking maybe I should buy the DVD? I dunno. I know if I get it I'm gonna want to get the rest of the BSG DVDs and I just... don't have room for them on my book DVD case.

And on that note, my sister told me that I can get rid of her bed so I can have room for more DVD storage. She was actually giving me a chance to claim our room as my own since she's never home anyway. I might take her up on that offer... but right now I rather find it convenient to dump all my shit on her bed: mail, dirty laundry, DVDs I don't have room for, etc. I can definitely get used to this. But not yet. I still find it weird waking up in the morning and there's no one sleeping on the bed right next to mine :(

Anyways... enough with that.
I also saw The Color Purple at the Ahmanson Theatre last Saturday and I enjoyed it very much. LaToya London (of American Idol) and Michelle Williams (of Destiny's Child) played two of the leads. I laughed, I wept, I cheered...

... and damn, that Michelle Williams was pretty good! I never thought I'd see her gospel-singin' self wear nothin but a nude-colored g-string and kissing a girl. WHOA! I was impressed.

Gah! HEADACHE!!!
I stayed up all night
And woke up late
Because it's a holiday and I didn't have to go to work
But -- GAH!!!!
HEADACHE!!!

I'd take Tylenol, but there's no Tylenol in the medicine cabinet. And dammit, I can't swallow pills anyway, so what the hell? Maybe I just need something to eat. Maybe I need more sleep. Maybe I need to watch Veronica Mars again. Maybe I need to stop watching TV. Maybe I should come up with a list of reasons not to watch TV and IGNORE every single one of them. Maybe I need to get off the computer. Maybe the glow of the computer screen has permanently damaged my brain. Maybe my brain has disintegrated and my thoughts are nothing but a pile of goo.

This LJ entry is a pile of goo.

And you know what?

SO IS YOUR FACE!

And I think it could've been the Brasso metal polisher that I was using last night. Maybe I inhaled a bunch of fumes or something. But people!!! THE STUFF WORKS!!! Got a scratched iPod? Use Brasso. Got a scratched iPod? USE BRASSO! And actually, I don't even have an iPod, but I swear -- Brasso should be your new best friend. And sure, it didn't erase all the scratches, but the major ones are gone! And look -- my mp3 player's all SHINY!!! Shiny like the entire cast of Firefly is shiny!

And sure, that's only the "after" picture. But trust me, the "before" picture was BAD. Anyways, so where were we? Ah-HA! My headache. This annoying bitch of a headache that keeps pounding against my skull!

Help me find a cure!
Help me find a cure!
Help me find a cure in a non pill-popping way cuz like I said, I can't swallow pills!!! Should I have some soup? Should I inhale Vick's Vaporup? Should I continually massage my temples? Should I *NOT* turn on the TV? Should I turn on the TV anyway because it's actually the cure and not the cause? Should I feel like an idiot for believing the latter even though I know that it's probably not the truth?

HA!

Where's the remote?
I still haven't watched The Office. Speaking of -- You all should watch these public service announcements. Your lives depend on it.

I just love going to the Paul Mitchell School.
Got my haircut, got my hair colored... and about four Paul Mitchell students walked by and told me how beautiful my hair was. One of them even asked me if he could please do my hair cuz it just looks too fabulous (Unfortunately for him, I'd already made an appointment with another hairdresser). LOL! Even my hairdresser was like, "I agree. Your hair should be in shampoo commercials." *squee* Oh, my ego is on cloud nine right now. This should happen more often!

Other things that made my weekend OMG!Yay:
- Two nights and four hours of 24
- Going to the "99 Ranch" store and buying hella' noodles
- Sleeping in
- Finishing Neil Gaiman's Stardust
- Four Golden Globe wins for Brokeback Mountain (which I haven't seen yet, but I'm definitely rooting for)
- Watching Wonderfalls on DVD
- This quote from Stephen King: (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] mooners!)

"If Veronica Mars is so cheap to produce (compared, say, to the per-episode budget of a show like Lost), how can it be so good? And how come budget seems to have so little to do with the relative merit of TV shows? For that matter, why is Veronica Mars so good? It bears little resemblance to life as I know it, but I can't take my eyes off the damn thing."

Feet... heels... in pain... ouch.
Well, the good news is that I've regained some feeling on the left side of my big toe. Yeah, you heard me right. The left side. Which means that the right side is still numb.

*pokes*
*stares*
*helllooooo, big toe*

Anyways, it's not black and blue and it's not swollen. I wonder if my health insurance covers Dr. House. In the meantime, sitting on my ass all day sounds VERY good right about now. My heels seem to have gotten worse ever since I found out about Plantar Fasciitis.

*wiggles feet*
*hmmm...*

My physical therapist friend told me today that I probably strained some ligaments or whatever. She said that to compensate for my heels, I started putting more weight on my toes when I walk. She's probably right.

Anyways.
Plans for the weekend:
- Have a mini Law & Order: SVU marathon with the sis and the bro.
- Cancel order from IKEA because it'll probably take them a gazillion years to ship my bookshelf to my house.
- Go to a different furniture store on Saturday because I *must* have a bookshelf NOW (Seriously, for a very neat person, my room looks like a disaster. Magazines, comic books, paperbacks, and DVD sets all over the place. It's a miracle I can still find my laptop underneath all that crap.)
- Break in the new Veronica Mars boxed set. Cuz Weevil love me long time.

ETA: New Harry Potter pictures!!! SQUEEEEEEE!!! Is it too weird that I think Cedric Diggory is a lot cuter than Viktor Krum? Viktor Krum looks a little too brute for me... he looks like he just make grunting sounds all day long.

Big toe still kinda numb. At least on the surface. I can feel it when I squeeze or when I wiggle, but the skin... not so much. I still think there's a vein stuck somewhere, causing all the numbness, but ehh. I have another problem to deal with:

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a condition called Plantar Fasciitis. It's when your heel hurts like a mother, especially after a period of inactivity. ESPECIALLY after you wake up in the morning. I've always assumed that it was "tired feet," but apparently my tired feet has a name! Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] vertigo66 for giving me some very useful info. Now I know what's wrong with my feet!!! Gah!!! So like, I need to do some stretching excercises to alleviate the pain (Hey [livejournal.com profile] sleepymonster!!! Ummm.... dude. My big toe is numb. I mean, it's just... numb and stuff. I kept poking it and poking it and I'm all, "Dude! What the hell is up?" I think I pulled another vein in my foot or something. Cuz everything is just... off! My entire foot hurts but my big toe cannot feel a thing! *cries* I mean, am I walking wrong or something? Did I put one foot in front of the other and injured myself?!!! I'm confused here!!

In the meantime... *pokes* I'll just wiggle my big toe until it starts feeling something again.

Anyways...

In other news... I'm pleased with last night's America's Next Top Model results. Camille was a bitch and I'm glad she's outta' there. But now they're down to my four favorite girls -- how do I deal, man???!!!!

I didn't vote yesterday. Yes, I know... ya'll must be disappointed in me. But my only excuse is that none of the candidates appealed to me. I was watching the debate on CNN last week and it was so boring that I was ready to vote for Al Sharpton just because he's the only one who kept me interested. And I can assure you, if my roommate voted, she would've voted for Sharpton too. Wait a minute... I think she DID vote. Did she? I'm gonna have to ask her.

I had an interesting conversation with Monster last night. Hahaha, she said I should audition for American Idol so I can put Filipinos on the map. I told her that if I did audition, I'm gonna sing Phoebe Buffay songs.
