Man alive, it is hot as hell today. I do not like.

I'm leaving for New York early tomorrow morning. It might be raining when I arrive.

The weather hates me.

But OMG, so excited!!!!

***

I do not care about American Idol. For the first time in the show's history, I'm not gonna be voting.

I'm pretty much "bleh" about television nowadays. The only thing I get really REALLY excited about is frigging BONES. Cuz OMG, it rules.

SYTYCD this Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My work computer died last Tuesday. I panicked because it had all the important (and confidential) information about the library. Luckily the IT department came through for me, bt I don't know yet if any files are missing. I guess I won't find out until I try to look for something specific and it's not there.

***

I had drinks with Ray-Ray and Ron at the Custom Hotel yesterday and it was great! And dudes, the bathrooms had sound effects! Crashing waves and all! I guess to help people pee? I was dying!! And the little shelf in the stalls where they put the toilet papers? They're like, little flat mirrors. So the bathrooms are totally equipped for snorting coke. Yay!

Eep!!! I want to be in New York already!!! RENT and Spring Awakening, here I come!

ON A BRIGHTER NOTE...

It's raining so I had an excuse to wear a hoodie and jeans to work.
I slept longer than 4 hours last night.
I love Valentine's Day candies, cookies, and cake.
My quote-of-the-day is HOT.

After hours of staring at the computer screen, waiting... waiting... waiting...
Something amazing happened.

I think I found my poem. )
And thanks to Elite Beat Agents, I think I found my song. )

I have booked my flights for May.
I'm seeing two amazing people at Bboy Unit on Saturday
Have I mentioned RENT and Spring Awakening in NYC??!!!
My lows are really low, but my highs are easy to find.
I'm frail, but at least I am not numb.

Well, hello there. Merry Christmas Eve! Let me tell you what's the haps.

I'm finally caught up with Battlestar Galactica: RAZOR. Thank you, Netflix! I haven't read any of you guys' reviews cuz I didn't wanna spoil myself (shocker!) but holy DAMN, that was good. I really really enjoyed it and now I'm thinking maybe I should buy the DVD? I dunno. I know if I get it I'm gonna want to get the rest of the BSG DVDs and I just... don't have room for them on my book DVD case.

And on that note, my sister told me that I can get rid of her bed so I can have room for more DVD storage. She was actually giving me a chance to claim our room as my own since she's never home anyway. I might take her up on that offer... but right now I rather find it convenient to dump all my shit on her bed: mail, dirty laundry, DVDs I don't have room for, etc. I can definitely get used to this. But not yet. I still find it weird waking up in the morning and there's no one sleeping on the bed right next to mine :(

Anyways... enough with that.
I also saw The Color Purple at the Ahmanson Theatre last Saturday and I enjoyed it very much. LaToya London (of American Idol) and Michelle Williams (of Destiny's Child) played two of the leads. I laughed, I wept, I cheered...

... and damn, that Michelle Williams was pretty good! I never thought I'd see her gospel-singin' self wear nothin but a nude-colored g-string and kissing a girl. WHOA! I was impressed.

I woke up at 1:00 PM today and I cannot get myself out of bed! It's just soooo comfy. Went back to sleep for a couple of hours, but now my head freaking hurts!!! Family gathering at my aunt's house tonight @ 7:00 so this headache better go away soon. Need to discuss some holiday plans with my cousins cuz I'm off work until January 1st and I really don't want to just stay at home the entire time. I gotz ta play in the snow, ya'll.

Well, guys... I partied long and I partied hard. Yesterday, I attended the very last search committee meeting EVER and I couldn't be any more relieved. No more crying in the bathroom stall! No more sobbing in front of my boss! All I need to do now is survive Thursday and I AM DONE. Finished. Ovaaaaah. I have Friday off and I won't be back 'til January 2nd.

LOL, I feel like I just finished my last final of the semester.

Anyways, so like I said... I partied long and I partied hard. I attended the university staff Christmas party yesterday and I totally tore up the dance floor with my peeps until the DJ stopped spinning. I was up there bumpin' it with my homie Ray-Ray and my other co-worker Rebecca. And then we met a couple of cool people from the School of Ed. Fun times. I haven't gone dancing in so long so yeah... it was the perfect way to end all the crappy work stuff. My entire body is sore... but it's all good :)

BTW... I bought that stupid "Brain Age" game for my Nintendo DS and it's so fecking annoying. Apparently my brain is very tired and is not the "age" it's supposed to be (the optimal is 20 years old). Anyway, when I started my brain age was 80-something, but now I got it down to...53. Go me!

I'm going to see The Color Purple (the musical) on Saturday. I'm so excited! And in May, I might be going back to New York to hang with [livejournal.com profile] peakin75. Eeeep!!! Spring Awakening!!!! Cross your fingers for me!

Ok, enough with American Idol. I've been watching Firefly cuz of [livejournal.com profile] caalan. (Thanks, my whitey!) Anyways, my big-screen BTVS/AtS event is this Friday and I'm excited!! Ooooh, and I'll be meeting [livejournal.com profile] cali_b soon!! Yay!!!!

LOS ANGELES, WHERE YOU AT??!!!

Oh man, I'm so glad to be back in LA!!! I love New York to pieces, but DAMN the weather was so fricking weird over there! It just gradually got worse as the days went by. I mean, the weather was nice on Sunday and Monday, but around Tuesday? Whoo-wee!!! The humidity was off the hinges! I started sweating buckets just by standing on a corner! And don't even get me started on the non-ventilated subway stations. I mean... can I get some oxygen up in here?

(But I still love you, Metro!!! You rock my fricking world! Yay for the air-conditioned trains!!!)

The weather got even weirder last Friday. We were exiting the Museum of Natural History and it was hot as hell, right? And then we took the train to MoMa and when we got out of the subway, it was frigging RAINING liek whoa!!! So basically in about 15 minutes, the weather changed from boiling hot to pouring rain. And guess what??? We didn't even get to go to MoMa because the "free admission" line went on for blocks and blocks! And we didn't bring any umbrellas because it was frigging hot and sunny when we left our hotel! So we were like, "Fuck this... we don't want to get wet!" So we ran back to the subway station and took the train back to Milford Plaza. And then we packed and watched TV. And ate some cheesecake.

Anyways, it's time for some PIC!SPAM... )

NEW YORK UPDATE:

We got lost in the BRONX cuz we thought we wuz gangstas.
We wuz like, "Heck yeah... this is just like South Central. It's all good. We from LA."

And just like LA, none of the Metro buses came. So we walked around for like, 1 hour.
We felt like uber dorks. We never did find the Botanical Gardens...

Anyways, we also went to:
Soho
Greenwich Village
Little Italy
Chinatown

We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
I don't like seafood, but I ate the popcorn shrimp.

Oh, and BTW... while we were walking down "the village," we totally saw MIKE MYERS!!! Haahahah!!! There goes my first celebrity sighting here in NYC!

Let's see... what have I been doing these past two days?
Well, I uh... walked from Wall Street to Brooklyn via the Brooklyn Bridge.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

That's DA BRIDGE right thurrrr aaaaaand... those buildings? Well, that's the view from da bridge. It really was quite an experience walking across the damn thing. Cuz it's just THAT long of a walk. I was so tired. I would have jumped for joy once I finished crossing it, but I probably would have died of exhaustion. Oh, and did I mention that I forgot to bring water? So yes... Brooklyn Bridge + heat - bottled water = DEATH.

[Sidenote: Since I'm such a Photoshop junkie, I just had to photoshop all my pictures so they will look like postcards. So yes... those are my actual photos from the Brooklyn Bridge.]

I also chilled at a cemetery. Wow. That was cool. There were people sitting on benches and eating their lunch. I know that sounds kinda morbid, but it really was nice and quiet in there.

I got hit on by an Italian boxer. No lie. I was at a pizza place and he told me that he really liked me and then he asked for my number. Haha, dream on.

Anyways... what else?
Oh, today I met some firemen. They were just chillin outside of the fire station so we were just like, "Hey... wassup?" We took some pictures with them, but I turned out looking all crappy so I don't think I want to show 'em to you. LOL! But yay for FDNY!

Then I went to Central Park...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I didn't see Yoko Ono, but Joanna totally took pictures of her apartment. Hehehe. And um... that place is HUGE so we didn't really spend a lot of time chillin' there. I just wanted to take pictures of the Strawberry Fields sign and that IMAGINE thingie on the ground. It was very very pretty.

Then we went to 5th Avenue and shopped. I told myself that I wasn't gonna leave New York without buying a ring from Tiffany & Co. so I did. And it's cute. And I'm happy. Here's a picture of it:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Yes, that's Benji and Donyelle on my laptop screen and yes, my fingers really are THAT stubby. That's pretty much the extent of my NYC shopping experience. I don't intend on buying anything else. Besides, I'm spending most of my money on food. Which brings me to...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

SERENDIPITY!!! Yes, I totally ate there. I ordered their world famous Frozzzzen Hot Chocolate and it was so effing GOOD. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of it!!! It looked sooo pretty and delicious! Anyways, while we were waiting to be seated, the restaurant host got a call for a reservation and guess who it was for? Frigging JAMIE FOXX!!!! Jamie Foxx got a reservation at Serendipity! Heee!!! I forgot what time he was supposed to show up, but anyways... we didn't see him.

[Shoutout to [livejournal.com profile] sleepymonster... two packets of Frozzzen Hot Chocolate mix are coming your way!]

Oh, and have I mentioned the fried chicken? MAN!!!! Serendipity has some yummy fried chicken!!! I want to take a dozen of them home!!! LOL!!!
Anyways, that's about it for me. I gotta go get ready for Avenue Q tonight!!! Woot!

GREETINGS FROM NEW YORK CITY

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Yeah, the hotel is charging me 12 bucks to use the Internet so I said, "Ah... what the hell" and logged on to LJ as soon as I could.

My friend Joanna and I arrived here at 10:30pm last night after a 2-hour flight delay and the minute we checked into our rooms, we headed out to explore Times Square. Yeah, even at 2 in the morning, that place is PACKED!!! You wouldn't think it was actually 2am! And boy, that place must've been filled with Californians because everybody walked so damn slow! LMAO!!! I thought everybody was supposed to walk extra fast up in here! But noooooo....

Anyways, I heard that people over at Cali are having some nasty HUMID rainstorms, well let me just say that the weather here is fantastic!!! It rained the first night and it was humid as hell, but it was actually VERY nice out today.

I know I've been here before, but this time around I actually got a hotel room and let me just say that it's so fricking AWESOME living here in the middle of the theatre district. I got tickets to go see Avenue Q on Tuesday so me and Joanna went out to look for the theatre and whaddaya know... it's frigging RIGHT NEXT DOOR to our hotel building -- right across the street where they play Phantom of the Opera and The Producers, a few blocks away from where they show The Wedding Singer and The Lion King. Fricking cool :)

So let's see... what did we do today?
We shopped at Times Square, went Macy's, visited Grand Central Station, took pictures at New York City Public Library, chilled at Bryant Park AND Madison Square Park, almost got hit by taxis near the Flat Iron building, strolled around Park Avenue, bought stuff from LUSH and H&M, ate cheesecake at Junior's and met a really really REALLY cute drunk guy who's gonna take us out drinking on Wednesday night -- and that's why I'm gonna totally miss SYTYCD.

*headdesk*

Getting drunk or SYTYCD?

OMG, Benji and Donyelle 4-EVA!!!!

P.S. We totally walked from Times Square to Soho. My feet are very tired.

Must. Watch. Veronica. Mars. Again.

Does it seem a little too crazy that I want to re-watch all the gut-wrenching scenes? Like, seriously. A good cry is in order. Plus, maybe watching it for the second time will make me like it more? Less with the "WTF" and more with the "OMG!JAWDROP?"

Anyways, watching Scrubs right after the gasp-fest that is VM really made me feel good inside. Yay for having a VCR along with the TiVo. Except... I TiVoed House instead of VM so I'm gonna have to d/l VM so I can watch all those gut-wrenching scenes over again. *sighs*

In other news:
I've booked the flight and I've reserved the hotel room. I'll be in New York from July 22 to July 29.

Feck it, Lakers! You only needed to win one more game and you can't even pull one off at home!
*headdesk*
You gotta take Game 7, DAMMIT!!! Take Game 7 so you can play the Clippers next. Then I won't be too nervous anymore! Cuz either way an LA team comes out of it with a "W".

Anyways.

It's been decided. I'm going back to New York in July. I'm going to take a one-week vacation and I'm gonna chill with my homegirl Joanna in Manhattan. I'm so excited!!! I'm actually going away with someone who's not a member of my family! Anyways, she's looking for plane tickets and hotels right now. I still need to tell my boss, though. And my parents. (Isn't it weird that I still get nervous when I tell them about my plans and my trips? I mean, it's not like they're gonna say 'no,' right? Right?)

Anyway, since this is gonna cost me insane amounts of money, I'm gonna try NOT to spend any money for the next couple of months. No DVDs, no music, no makeup, no LUSH. I'm only allowing myself to spend money on food. I'll still have to pay my cellphone bill and my TiVo bill and the Comcast bill (plus Netflix)... but that's it! That's it, you hear me!???

Ok, so I still have to buy 3 tickets to go see RENT in June, but that's it! That's it, okay? I trust that you guys will keep me from buying shit that I don't need, or else.

Veronica Mars is smarter than LOST #3:
Wallace appeared from the clearing and nodded towards Eko. Upon seeing him, Eko gave him a high five and said, "Yo wassup, my brotha'... see what I got right here? This is my magic stick, son. Yeah, I got the magic stick. I know if I can hit once, I can hit twice. I hit the baddest chicks. Shorty don't believe me, then come with me tonight. And I'll show you maaagic. (What? What?) Maaagic. I got the magic stick."

My gurl Joanna was in the library today!!! We didn't get to chat for long cuz I needed to catch the bus, but it was soooo nice seeing her again!!! I missed her soooo much!!! Anyways, she just came from New York too and she told me that she wanted to visit the city again. I said, "Me too!" And she said, "OMG!" And I said, "I know!" And she said, "Dude... we gotta go back!" And I said, "For realz, yo!" So anyways... hopefully everything falls through. It'd be nice to take a trip again.
