Day 25: If I had a BFF....
Originally uploaded by xrogue81

If I had a BFF, it would be this guy right here. No, we don't paint each other's nails, or gossip on the phone every night, or see each other every day. We don't go shopping for clothes, or have sleepovers, or talk about boys...

But when I feel sad, pissed off, or stressed out, he's always there to offer me a hug or buy me a drink -- no questions asked. And you know, sometimes that's all I need. Thanks, Ray-Ray. Cheers!

P.S. Sorry ladies, this dude is engaged!

"Whenever I go on a ride, I'm always thinking of what's wrong with the thing and how it can be improved."
-Walt Disney

Last Sunday, I went to Disneyland with my friend Kamilla.  It was sort of her way of paying me for some artwork that I did for her publishing company.  I didn’t know how much freelance graphic designers get paid (and neither did she) so I was just like, “Uh… take me to Disneyland and pay for my food and drinks.”  So she did.

Anyway, I was excited, right?  Cuz I wanted to see the World of Color show so freaking badly.  So we got to Disney’s California Adventure and stood in line to get passes for the show.  The wait was around 30-40 minutes and the earliest show we could get was 10:15pm.

It was hot and crowded and yuck.  But it’s all good cuz it’s Disneyland and we were able to rest a lot.  We had a couple of drinks at the Grand Californian Hotel and afterwards we made our way back to the park to see World of Color.

We had to wait at a holding area for 1 more hour because the 9:15 show was still going on and the park employees still had to reset the viewing area.  We had to stand in front of these annoying teenagers while waiting in line, and after 15 minutes of hearing them yap, we were ready to murder them.  I mean, come on… one of them baby-talked for like, 45 minutes!  At first, without seeing her face, I thought she was only 5 years old so I excused the ridiculous voice.  But when I turned around, I found out that she’s like, 16 years old who’s just trying to bone one of the other guys in the group.  Motherfuckin’ A!  It was fucking torture!  But you know what?  Seeing World of Color would have been worth it.

By the time we were ushered to the viewing area, we’d have already been in Disneyland for approximately 11 hours.  Holy hell, the show better be good.  We were lucky and got placed at the very front of the viewing area – the Soak Zone.  We were getting super excited now… only a few more minutes until 10:15pm.  But 10:15 came and went and the show hasn’t started.

That’s ok, cuz shows get delayed, right?  We stood around for 5 more minutes, when finally… the announcer came on the speakers.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight’s 10:15 showing of World of Color has been canceled.”

Apparently, a pipe had burst. Fucking fuck.  11 hours at Disneyland. Teenagers baby-talking. Show canceled.  I was pissed off, man.  But what else can we do but go home?  As we were leaving the park, I saw that the queue of people outside Guest Relations started to get longer.  I heard that park employees were scared that there might be a riot.  Psshh.  I’m not surprised.  Can you imagine??  A lot of people spent hundreds of dollars on a dinner package because they were promised a good viewing spot.  Others (like my friend Kamilla) paid the full $97 park-hopper ticket.  Some people were tourists and that night was their last night at Disneyland.  Others actually scheduled their entire day around the World of Color show.  Yes, shows get canceled all the time, but at least Disneyland had some sort of damage control.  This time, they didn’t.  They didn’t know where to send people.  They didn’t know how to compensate those who spent lots of money.  They just made things up as the complaint line got longer and longer.  They didn’t have a plan.  Some got free fast passes to other rides.  Others got a free 1-day ticket to one of the parks. Most people didn’t get anything. And nobody got a guarantee to see World of Color at another time.  I mean, who cares about the fast passes and the free tickets?  We wanted to see the show… the show was taken away… we wanted to get compensated for that.

And you know what sucked the most?  The 11:15pm show went on without a hitch.  Some people tried to get back in, but their passes were for the 10:15 show so they technically weren’t valid. Freaking’ A.

Santana: Sex is not dating.
Brittany: If it were, Santana and I would be dating.

I got a new TiVo. I named him John Casey.  It was the last thing I needed to buy in able to complete my room.  So now I can finally say that the "renovation" is officially done.  Goodbye, fire.  Farewell, smoke stains.  Adios, charred wall.  So long, burn marks on the carpet.

Click here to see the photos. )

Yay. And it only took me 2 months. LOL!!! Special thanks to Mr. Clean, BEHR, Home Depot, FLOR.com, and Target. I should also thank my dad because he totally moved all my furniture and ripped out the old yucky carpet from my floor. Oh, and my co-worker Jamie because she gave me her discount code for FLOR.com! I saved mucho money on the carpet tiles!

I guess one of the other major change in my room is the number of beds. There used to be two, you know, and now there's only one. I definitely appreciate the extra space... although now I don't know where to dump my dirty clothes.

Today's Awesome List
  • My room is officially done.
  • I love my new carpet.
  • My new TiVo kicks ass.  I can watch streaming HD videos from Netflix!
  • Caught up with my friend Will after not seeing him for a year.
  • My cellphone bill did not look too horrible this month (even with all the roaming charges from my trip to Canada.)
  • SYTYCD is back and I love Alex Wong.
  • I was able to sleep in until 12:30pm today!

HAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I'm going on vacation, bitchezz!  Watch out, Canada, here I come!
And yes, yes, it might be a bit rainy, but I don't care.  I'll be far far away from work.  It'll just be for a week, but it will be a week well deserved.

Mmm... Toronto and Niagara Falls with my peeps. Just one... more... day...

Today's Awesome List
  • Vacation starts on Friday
  • I finally get to use my passport!
  • Went to Disneyland last Sunday with some fun people.
  • Carpet samples from FLOR.com arrived today!

xrogue81: (glee_britsantana)

: You're a really good dancer.
Finn: Thanks! But my feet weren't really moving.
Brittany: That was the best part.

Last night's episode of Glee was so overly hyped up on Facebook and Twitter that when finally saw it today, I was so underwhelmed.  Yes, it did have some funny moments, but dudes... everyone and their mommas JUST HAD TO quote that "gay dolphin" thing.  By the time I heard Brittany say it, the joke was already played out!  LOL!!!

(But yay for Brittany and Santana!  It's possible that they can dethrone Artie and Tina as my Glee OTP.)

At the suggestion of [livejournal.com profile] portiapm, I thought I should give this whole "Gratitude Journal" a try.  I'm sick and tired of being defeated by stress and it's time for me to start kicking its ass.  So every day whenever I can, I'm going to blog about the awesome things that have happened to me on a particular day.  I'm not going to ignore all the bad, of course.  I'm still gonna use my right to bitch.  But it helps to acknowledge the good stuff too.  So anyways... here it is:

Today's Awesome List
  • Lunch break at the LMU bluff: The view was pretty, the breeze was cold, and the fruit parfait was yummy.
  • I put labels on a whole bunch of envelopes, I stuffed brochures into a whole bunch of envelopes, and I sealed a whole bunch of envelopes.  So relaxing :)
  • My sister finally got a Disneyland Annual Pass and she went to Disneyland today for the first time in about 5 years!  I'm so proud.  (And on that note, I'm going to Disneyland with her on Sunday and I'm freaking excited!)
  • Tomorrow's Bones episode?  Yep, already saw it!
  • My mom gave me loose change.  Cha-ching!!!  I have bus fare!!!
  • I got my In the Heights ticket in the mail!!
So there you go!  Now if you'll excuse me... the bed is calling my name.  Goodnight!

- Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory

Sorry I've been MIA, gentle readers. It's because I went on a short vacation! Man, oh man, it was so nice to be far far away from the library. I visited [profile] cali_b and [livejournal.com profile] portiapm in Virginia with [livejournal.com profile] peakin75 and [livejournal.com profile] corrismatic. We shopped a lot and ate a-plenty. I also revisited Washington D.C. because the in-flight movie I saw was Night at the Museum and I just had the urge to go to the Museum of Natural History. Oooh... oooh!!!!  I got a full-body massage too!!!  It was my first time!  Anyways, I had the best time with my bestest friends :)

I love GLEE!!!!

I'm also finally caught up with The Big Bang Theory (yay!) and I started watching Three Rivers (purely because of Katherine Moennig).  I'd say I'm doing okay with television so far :)

I hate, hate being left out. Whether it's not being picked for a team... or being picked for a team and then showing up and realizing the team doesn't exist. Or that the sport doesn't exist! I should've known. Poop ball?

There's already been several celebrity deaths this year that I think I've been desensitized.

I'm slowly making it my bitch.

On my health:
No more severe coughing. Voice is back to normal. A little phlegm here and there, but I'm fine.  However, due to the heat or... something, I've developed some kind of eczema on my neck.  It's disgusting.

On work:
I'm ready for a vacation.

On vacation:
Heading to Virginia on September 30!!!  Made a massage appointment :D

On Disney:
My cousins and I went to the D23 Expo last Sunday and had a blast!  Check out some of my pics

On television:
I've seen the premiere of "Bones" and "The Office."  I haven't seen last week's SYTYCD, nor have I seen the last two eps of "Top Chef" and "Project Runway."  No time for TV!!!!

My dad:
He's trying to set me up with some dude.  Ewwwww.  Hellz no.

My sister:
She's finally leaving her god-awful job and moving onto a better one.  We celebrated by eating at Fire+Ice in Anaheim.

The Grand Opening Party for LUSH Anaheim is this Saturday, OMG!!!! My sister and I have already sent in our RSVPs and we are ready to stock up on yummy-smelling stuff that we don't need! YAY! Of course, we're also looking forward to getting the FREE goodie bags so I hope it doesn't get too crazy and they end up running out. In the meantime, I'll just drown myself in this cuz I'm pretty much obsessed with the smell and I might just need a new tin by Saturday.

Wallet, beware.

Skins Season 1 DVD is being shipped today. Thank you, Netflix! (And thank you, f-list.)

Had a couple of sips of Guinness on St. Patrick's Day. It's interesting that I actually didn't hate it compared to other beers that I've tasted. I still don't like beer, but hmm... interesting. Anyways, I enjoyed wearing green and seeing other people wear green. Green everywhere!!!

Going out with Ray-Ray and Ron on Friday. It's about damn time.

I've installed the F--- My Life app for my Blackberry. Schadenfreude on the go!

On a not-so-schadenfreudey note: Some bad things have been happening to some good people that I know. I just want to hug all of them and hope that things get better soon. Hang in there, ya'll.

Hi.  It's raining.  Don't you just love the rain?  I do, I do!!!!  Especially when I'm in my room under my warm cuddle blanket just snoozing away...

But when I'm outdoors and I have to walk from the bus stop to the library, the rain is not so great.  Like today, for example, my pants got wet all the way up to my thighs.  My shoes got wet too, thus making my socks hella soggy.  NOT COOL, rain.  Not cool.

On Friday night Ray-Ray, Jenn-Jenn, and Meghan took me out for my birthday dinner.  We went to Hennessey's Tavern in Manhattan Beach and since that was where I badly injured my ankle, I was very careful with my steps.  Anyway, we made it just in time for happy hour and early bird dinner!!!!  Yay!!!  Ten-dollar flat-iron steaks all around!!  The funny thing is, the place was totally empty when we got there.  But by the time we left, it was packed with old people!  I don't get it!  Why not take advantage of the early bird special, grandma?  WHY?!!

On Saturday, it was my family's turn to take me out for my birthday.  We were supposed to go to TGI Fridays, but got excited when my sister informed me that we're going to Mr. Lee's Korean BBQ instead.  SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I gotta say, I haven't eaten that much Korean BBQ since... the first time I ate at Mr. Lee's.  That's some good stuff, yo.

I didn't really get a lot of presents.  My dad gave me these pretty flip-flops, which was nice.  Meghan and Michelle gave me this kick-ass card that said, "You're a human sparkler, you are."  My BFF Lisa gave me the softest, prettiest, snuggle socks ever!!!!  And... are you ready for this... my baby also gave me the Planet Earth DVD set!!!!  Eeeeeeeeeee!!!!  I'm a geeeeek!!!!  I loves it!!!!

xrogue81: (garden_state)

Oh, we're warmed up. We're warmed up like biscuits. Dance biscuits.

- Saturday Night Live, "Sexy Ladies" skit

This weekend, I...
  • had a "Bones" marathon with my BFF Lisa.
  • watched season 2 of  "30 Rock" online.  (Thanks for thinking about the Mac users, Netflix!)
  • stayed indoors because of all the smoke and ashes from the brush fires.
  • cuddled with my baby
  • did not go to the gay marriage rally in L.A. and missed out on Lucy Lawless.
  • delighted in the lovely taste of white chocolate macadamia coffee creamer.
It's 4:45 PM.  I'm ready to go home, man.

So I went to the SYTYCD tour with Will last night and it was so much fun! And it was so cool cuz Joshua, my favorite of the season, performed so many times IT'S CRAZY!!! I took lots of pictures too and I must say, a few of them actually turned out nice!!!

You can find more pictures HERE, if you're interested. Anyways, after the show, I asked a few ushers where the meet-and-greet was, but they were like "Oh, you'll need a pass." And I was like, "Damn... they're not having an outdoor one?" So I was totally ready to go home, but Will was like "I'm not giving up!!!!" so after wandering around for 30 minutes, he overheard one of the ushers direct a lady towards the tour buses! We followed the lady and whaddaya know, there were barricades set up! We waited 'til 12 midnight and the dancers finally came out :)

You can find the rest of my meet-and-greet pics HERE. I didn't get to meet Twitch, Will, and Kherington cuz they were being rushed back to the buses :( But all in all it was a fun experience.

Holy crap. Yesterday I was on the train and all of a sudden all these cops came in with their guns drawn and everybody was all "Oh noezzzz! We're all gonna get shottt!" LOLz. Someone asked one of the officers what was up and he was like "Calm down, everyone. We are looking for someone." And some dude goes, "Who?" And he goes, "We believe there's an armed robbery suspect aboard the train, sir." And then this black guy was like, "IS HE BLACK?!!" So like, everybody was LOL'ing like hell and cracking jokes and it was the funniest thing ever (but sort of sad at the same time). Anyways, as it turns out the suspect wasn't on the train so it's all good.

I'm finally gonna see The Dark Knight tomorrow!!!!!! I know, I'm so late. But hey, not only will I get to see it at the IMAX theatre, I get to hang out with my boy Will too! I haven't seen him since B-Boy Unit last February, so I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

I'm starting to think about my holiday vacation already. I don't know where I'll be, but I know who I should be with <3

whoa. woe.

"As a matter of fact I think next time I have sex, just for comedic purposes, I'm gonna shout out something random like right at the point of orgasm just... WATCH OUT FOR THAT CAR!!!!!!!"

- Justin Timberlake, Futuresex/Loveshow

WINTERBELLS is gonna be the death of me. I think the fluffy little bunny is Satan himself. Check out my "previous high score," yo. I've been trying to beat it for the past 3 or 4 hours. I fail in life.

Hmm... so what has happened since I last blogged?
Well, I'm totally behind at work. And I have to interview a potential student assistant on Tuesday, but I'm totally unprepared. I mean, I have never interviewed anyone in my entire life. I'll probably start stuttering and say "um" and "like" a lot and talk with a heavy Filipino accent.

Nicole took me out to lunch on Thursday. We went to Panera and I had a fabulous corn chowder soup. It was so good that I ordered another bowl. Mmmmmmm.... corn.

And then on Friday I ate at Siam Best with my supervisor Debra and my co-worker Michele. I had a very "blah" Thai BBQ chicken, but I was starving so it's all good.

Next week I'm having lunch with Sachi at Pars. Yay, kabobs and basmati rice!!! Mmmmm... I can eat basmati rice every day. It's so nice to have something to look forward to at work (besides my baby's daily emails). What better way to escape the monotony of your job than having lunch with friends and co-workers?

Oh, and have I mentioned that I haven't gone to the gym in the past two weeks? Yay.

I watched Futuresex/Loveshow with Turtle. That Justin Timberlake... what a smooth mothafucka. My "quote of the day" is like, the best thing ever.

Anyways, I gotta get back to playing Winterbells cuz I'm a loser. Later, doodz.

- "Not Tonight" by Tegan & Sara

I'm back from my vacation. Had the BEST Broadway musical experience @ Spring Awakening. As it turns out, it was Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele's last performance and the audience was just INSANE. It really was incredible. I can't wait to see the show again when it comes to LA.

All in all, my trip has been great. For the first time EVER, me, [livejournal.com profile] cali_b, [livejournal.com profile] peakin75, and [livejournal.com profile] portiapm were finally able to be in the same room together! Yep, it was a long time coming. And I sure do hope we can do this at least once every year. Next meeting place: Toronto, perhaps?

I was also able to hang out with Turtle for a few days in Boston. We haven't seen each other since the SYTYCD tour in Reno and even though I had a couple of emo episodes, I still had a blast. It's a shame I didn't stay there longer. There really wasn't enough time. Wish there was a rewind button somewhere...

You know, they say that what you don't know can't hurt you. Bullshit. Cuz right about now, not knowing anything hurts like a motherfucker.

I don't know where the next road goes
But I feel the wheels rolling down below me

- "My Sweet Time" by Alexz Johnson

Man alive, it is hot as hell today. I do not like.

I'm leaving for New York early tomorrow morning. It might be raining when I arrive.

The weather hates me.

But OMG, so excited!!!!

I do not care about American Idol. For the first time in the show's history, I'm not gonna be voting.

I'm pretty much "bleh" about television nowadays. The only thing I get really REALLY excited about is frigging BONES. Cuz OMG, it rules.

SYTYCD this Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My work computer died last Tuesday. I panicked because it had all the important (and confidential) information about the library. Luckily the IT department came through for me, bt I don't know yet if any files are missing. I guess I won't find out until I try to look for something specific and it's not there.

I had drinks with Ray-Ray and Ron at the Custom Hotel yesterday and it was great! And dudes, the bathrooms had sound effects! Crashing waves and all! I guess to help people pee? I was dying!! And the little shelf in the stalls where they put the toilet papers? They're like, little flat mirrors. So the bathrooms are totally equipped for snorting coke. Yay!

Eep!!! I want to be in New York already!!! RENT and Spring Awakening, here I come!

I've been having issues with my left arm. It's been in knots for the past two days. I think it's been itching to fist-pump already. It is ready to see Avril Lavigne in concert on Saturday. Woo hoo.

While I crawl into the unknown
Cover me
I'm going hunting for mysteries

"Cover Me," by Bjork

I've joined the campus gym. It's only $5.00 a month for LMU staff members. I found out that a few library employees work out during lunch time and I figured, "Hey... why not?" It'll be good for me, I think. I know 30 minutes a day probably wouldn't do much for this ole' curvaceous figure of mine, but it's something that'll get me out of the office even just for a while.

Ate at Back Home in Lahaina with Meghan, Michelle, Debra, and Tita Rose last Friday. Mmmmmmm... Lahaina fried chicken. How I've missed you so.

My new headset fails. The jack was too small for my Blackberry Curve. I bought an audio adapter in hopes that I can get it to work. Now I just gotta wait for it to be delivered to my mailbox. In the meantime, I'll just have to put up with my too-big-for-my-ears headset. It's very painful to use... but that ain't gonna stop me from taking full advantage of AT&T's "unlimited nights & weekends" offer :D

Speaking of unlimited nights & weekends...
I was on the phone for 7 hours and 5 minutes last Friday night/Saturday morning. Tee hee!!! That totally beats my record of 6 hours and 5 minutes, no? It's all SO very worth it.

Thank god for naps. I am truly grateful for the couch in the library staff lounge.

Shoes, yes?

I've caught the sneaker bug.
It's dangerous. Cuz I want more.

I spent 6 hours and 5 minutes on the phone last night/this morning. I haven't done that EVER. I think my record was 5 hours and I totally had that BEAT. Hehe... it's soooooooooo highschool, I love it. Thanks for helping me use up my otherwise unused cellphone minutes, Turtle!!!

No, wait...
I have unlimited nights and weekends.

Me = 0
AT&T = 1

I'm so glad that my favorite shows are starting to come back with new episodes. It really helps fill in the blanks, you know? Cuz I really hate it when I'm bored and I start having... deep thoughts. Cuz they're usually (and unnecessarily) emo. Anyways... I'm finally caught up with BSG and "Doctor Who." The weekend has been good to me.

Sometimes I wish I can just up and leave and not be held back by, like... my life.

Oh, Friday...
It was quite rehabilitating, I must say. I know there has been a pattern in my life lately in that every good day is followed by a crashing blow, and everytime there's a crashing blow there's always Ray-Ray and Meghan. I don't have a lot of "real life friends," but I'm glad that a couple of them are at work, always ready to hear my rants. It's all I need, really, a chance to flush out the bad and re-discover the good.

I'm also thankful for beaches. And alcohol. And Google Chat.

Sunday: saw Wicked for the 5th, and final, time. I sat on the 5th row and it was great, but unfortunately Elphaba and Galinda were played by the standbys. They were okay, but still...

Had some alone time at Hollywood & Highland. Ate Cold Stone ice cream for the first time in a very very very long time.

I'm trying to busy myself, but I'm struggling. Anything that can keep myself from staring blankly on the computer screen would be GREAT. I'm currently watching the first season of Instant Star but it's just not doing it for me. I need something to move me emotionally. I need something. Maybe this one...
