I watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this morning. I did enjoy it at some level, but did anyone else think that it was a bit... boring? I thought it was all talk and no action. Part of me was very disappointed.

It needed moar epic. )

I still enjoyed the movie, however. It's just lacking a little something. It's one thing for me to get bored with it, but I felt worse when my sister started yawning and her boyfriend's nephew started asking, "Can we go home now??? Can we gooo home nowwwww?" ::sighs::

I've been getting these headaches for the past week or so.  I always get them towards the end of my work shift which sucks cuz they ruin my commute.  I think I get them because of stress and hunger.  So like... I probably need lots of food and a vacation.

There's this creepy woman on my Facebook who faked her engagement.  It's like, weird.  I mean she's a grown-ass woman who's been dropping hints about being engaged and who finally announced that she was changing her last name and all of a sudden, "Tee hee!  J/K guyz!"  I'm not surprised though... I know she's one of those crazy Benjellers who made me realize that the Benjelle fandom had some crazy dangerous fucked up grown women who shouldn't be posting pics of sinking ships and biracial babies on Benji Schwimmer's MySpace page.

Life Without a TiVo: Day #5

I'm getting by.  I've just been downloading TV shows.  I ended up buying a used TiVo box on Amazon for about 50 bucks.  I just... don't know when the seller is going to ship it to me.

***

I'm on the last chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  I'm confused, though, so I might have to read an online summary somewhere.  Dumbledore lost me somewhere between hallows and horcruxes and Harry's blood and Voldemort's soul and blah blah blah.  But still... Harry Potter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Twilight.  The number of deaths alone makes Harry Potter better than Twilight.

OMG, so The L Word, Big Love, and BSG are back as well.  I guess you can say I've been busy this weekend... just catching up with movies and TV shows.  I got a lot of sleep too, which is always good.  But what the hell is up with this California weather?  It's so hot, wtf?  It's funny cuz while all my New England peeps are complaining about the snow and the cold, I'm complaining about the heat.  I'd gladly switch places with one of you (even better if you live in the Boston area) cuz your weather is perfect for staying in, cuddling, and watching TV... which is all I wanna do on weekends.

I'm hungry.  I want Korean BBQ.  I had Korean BBQ with my sister yesterday and I want more.  Oh, how I miss the days when I used to go to Mr. Lee's Korean BBQ twice a week...

I finished listening to the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince audiobook.  I've now started on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I think I should make more icons.  I have over 60 icon spaces, but I only have 46 icons.  But I'm not as fangirly as I used to be so I doubt I'll be making any fandom-related icons anytime soon.  But look at my cute duckie icon!!!  Adorable, no?

***

I tried setting up my digital TV converter box and failed.  Apparently, in able to connect it to the TiVo, I needed this thing called an IR cable.  According to the TiVo site, it was supposed to come with my TiVo when I purchased it, but nope... it didn't.  I had to buy it separately.  I just hope it arrives before February cuz OMG, how will I survive?

Then again, I torrent almost everything nowadays so there's really no rush :D

YouTube deleted my Jim/Pam fanvid due to copyright issues.  Apparently the Old 97's don't want anyone using their "Question" song.  And what's even more irritating is the fact that there are other videos out there that use the same exact song but it's MY fanvid that gets docked.

Wow. I haven't posted in like, a week. This is not normal. What's wrong with me? I go on IdolForums too damn much. I keep refreshing every 5 minutes, it's ridiculous. Sometimes I even forget to check my f-list on here. I'm missing out on the Harry Potter LOLz. I'm a lucky, lucky girl.

Speaking of... I haven't even seen "Order of the Phoenix." It's interesting how I don't care. Cuz my summer is all about SYTYCD. Oh, have I mentioned that I went to another taping last Monday? It'll probably be my last one. My supervisor changed her schedule, preventing me from taking Mondays off. UGH. It sucks. But it's not like I have any more vacation days left...

I miss my taping crew already :(
Seeing the dancers is great, but hanging out with friends is even better. Oh gosh, I'm getting teary-eyed...

Graduating from college brought out the slacker in me. Seriously. For the past three days, I did nothing. I watched Scrubs all weekend long and that's about it. Braff, Braff, Braff. Faison, Faison, Faison.

All.

Weekend.

Long.

And I had it all planned out, you know? I borrowed a book from the library. I brought home some homework. Did I get any of those done? Hell no. I even made a couple of icons, but I *still* haven't filled out all of my icon spaces. What the --? How hard is it to fill out 52 icon spaces, man?!! Ah well... I have my reasons. First, I don't like using other people's icons so I just make 'em myself. And second, it takes me frigging forever to make one icon so yes -- I only made 2 in three days. Eh-heh-hehhhniweiz...

I've developed a habit of borrowing books and NOT reading them. I'd read a couple of pages and I wouldn't touch it for another two weeks or so. So basically I return 'em to the library without even getting past the first chapter. How sad is that? I've got a couple of Def Poetry books, which I'm DEFINITELY going to read, but novels? I've got no appetite for them. Unless it's The DaVinci Code -- cuz I really want to re-read it at some point.

Speaking of reading...
Did you know that I still haven't read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? Crazy, huh? It's just that I haven't found enough motivation to read it yet. I'm all "meh" about the whole thing. Me + HBP = APATHY. But since I paid for the damn thing, I predict that within 10 years or so, I will actually read the first page. Yep. I promise you that.

I don't have much to say. I watched Scrubs and laughed my ass off -- especially since they mentioned Grey's Anatomy. Elliot was all, "Let's go home and watch Grey's Anatomy." There goes the weekend.

I must say, I had a pretty good four days off. I slept in, had a Scrubs marathon, and ate a home-cooked meal. It was fantastic, yo. But as usual when I'm having fun time goes by so quickly. So guess what? It's Monday again!

Anyways, here's a recap of the last two days...

SATURDAY
- Hooked up with my old friend Crimson. Since all of our elementary school friends were having mini weekend reunions in the Philippines, we thought that we should have one too! So we went to Cerritos Town Center and watched RENT (her first time, my second). She said that it was a tiny bit raunchy for her taste, but she enjoyed it a lot. And I, once again, bawled during "Glory," "Without You," "I'll Cover You (Reprise)," "Your Eyes," and "Finale B."
- Sidenote: While we were buying our tickets, the chick at the ticket booth got all excited when we told her that we're seeing RENT. She said, "Ohmygod! It is so good. I'm so happy you're watching it!" Tee hee!!! Methinks she's a RENThead.
- Anyways, after the movie we went to Starbucks and got some hot cider. We also took pictures so we can upload it to my elementary school's Yahoo!Groups. While waiting for our orders, I revealed to Crimson that my Starbucks name is "Buffy." The kid at the cash register overheard us and started laughing. I have a feeling she's a BTVS fan.
- When I got home, Crimson hung around for a little bit. We found out that one of our elementary school friends is now living in Cali (about 5 minutes away from my house) so we decided to meet up sometime before the New Year.
- Then, for some reason, Harry Potter came up. And it's weird too because we've never EVER talked about HP before. So imagine my surprise when she started the conversation with this: Okay, I know it's supposed to be Ron and Hermione, BUT... )

SUNDAY
- Speaking of HP... guess what? I've finally fulfilled my GoF quota. Yep, you heard me. I watched the movie again this weekend. So yes, I've seen it 3 times total. I am now satisfied.
- Went to ULTA with my sister. While she browsed through the makeup section, I checked out the foot spa aisle. Long story short, she's gonna buy me an electric foot massager for Christmas. Best. Christmas. Present. Ever. My feet will be forever grateful. I can just... step on the foot pads and feel the vibrations :)

Damn, my sister could be so flaky sometimes. She was my main RENT buddy, you know? And now, because of her flakiness, my RENT plans are slowly going to heck. But I must, must, must, MUST see this movie, dammit. I just... hate watching a movie alone the first time around. Second or third? Sure. But not the first time. *sighs* I dunno... I might just blow my Thanksgiving dinner for this. Just go to the movie theatre instead of my aunt's house, you know? I mean... I see my frickin' family every frickin' week because every frickin' week, there's a frickin' family gathering. Like, seriously. Sometimes you just have to... NOT be there. And I mean, I have lots to be thankful for, but seeing RENT would definitely be the whipped cream to my Thanksgiving pumpkin pie. *sighs* I'll see what I can do.

Speaking of movies --
I called my brother on my way home from work and before I hung up the phone, he said, "Wait! What are you doing tonight?" And I said, "Nothing. Why?" And he said, "I was wondering if you'd like to see Harry Potter with me." I said, "Of course!!!" And he said, "Cool." So one hour later, I was in the movie theatre with my brother, watching GoF. Fun times :D He had plenty of questions cuz he was a bit confused, but he really enjoyed the dorkiness of Harry and Ron. (I'd say he can see a bit of himself in them). Anyways, the following conversation took place between us (Um... yeah, we do talk in movie theatres. Sue us.)

Brother: Ugh! Whattafuck? Whassamatter with Ron?
Me: Huh?
Brother: Ron!!! He's such a... a...
Me: Um... what?
Brother: A... what's the word?
Me: Drama queen?
Brother: YES!

Brother: Wait... why was Hermione crying?
Me: Didn't you hear them? It's because Ron said something pretty mean to her.
Brother: And?
Me: Well... supposedly she likes him.
Brother: WHY?!!

*jaw drops in amazement*
Seriously, I have no influence on him whatsoever. But honestly, the most apparent ship in the movie was Harry/Ron. They have that old married couple vibe. I just don't think my brother wants to admit it. Besides, he's all about screaming "Malfoy" in the shower.

*ahem*
Oh, I almost forgot. It's time for my weekly TV review. Wednesdays rule, man. (And I must mention this as a sidenote: I LOVE MY VCR. I was watching GoF while VM and LOST were on, and my Tivo can only record one show. So what did I do? I put the good ole' VCR to use. Hail the VCR!!!)

A big, fat SQUEE, man. Big, fat SQUEE.
The cast of RENT performed in The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday and I must say... Taye and Idina? Waaaaay too cute. I must've watched that segment 20 times in a row cuz I couldn't stop drooling all over myself. I mean, what a beautiful couple!!! Been together 10 years and still hot!

Anyway, my plans to see RENT this weekend is not looking good. My sister, who seemed so enthusiastic a couple of weeks ago, is now showing signs of disinterest. I don't even think she wants to see GoF anymore... which totally ruins my plan of seeing it three times. (NEWSFLASH: [livejournal.com profile] connaka didn't like GoF and is not planning on seeing it again! Aaaah! Plans! Ruined!!! Ah, it's ok. We can just have lunch or something.) Bah. I miss being a part-time employee sometimes. Remember when I saw PoA twice in one day because I got off work at 2pm? Yeah, those were the good ole' days.

By the way... what's up with LJ not sending me email notifications? What's up with that? Anyone here having the same problem?

In other news, my elementary school friends in the Philippines just had another reunion. *sniffs* St. Joseph's class of 1994. I miss them all. But dang, it's weird chatting in a messageboard with them. Everybody's on Friendster and I'm like, "MySpace, bitchesss!!!"

Bought a whole bunch of DVD's.

Spent quality time with the TV.

Got Disc 1 of The L Word (season 2) from Netflix.

Hooked my sometimes homophobe brother into watching (then again, it's a girl-on-girl show).

In the middle of it all, he stopped and pointed at Shane.

He goes, "Heeeey!!! Where have I seen her from??!!!"

I said, "She was Jake from Young Americans."

And he goes, "Yes! She was the girl pretending to be a guy! Then she kissed that other dude who thought he was gay!!!"

And I was all, "YES!!!! That's her!"

Then I got all giddy because I can't believe my brother still remembers Jake and Hamilton.

Anyways, like I said, I bought a bunch of DVD's: The Perfect Score, Face Off, Spanglish, Star Wars Episode III and School of Rock.

Plus, I got an email from Amazon.com. They've already shipped Friends (seasons 3 and 10) and Scrubs (seasons 1 and 2) to my house! Weeeeee!!!

Anyways... in other news.

Dan Radcliffe staring at Emma Watson's boobs. I'm both amused and disturbed.

Shop, shop, shopping. One of my favorite clothing stores, Aeropostale, had a HUGE sale and everything was 40% off! Of course I bought some stuff. *heavenly sigh*

My stomach is doing all sorts of floopy things. I don't know whether to eat or... not eat.

Wow... the weekend just passed me by. It's like it never even happened.
