***

Last Sunday, I went to Disneyland with my friend Kamilla.  It was sort of her way of paying me for some artwork that I did for her publishing company.  I didn’t know how much freelance graphic designers get paid (and neither did she) so I was just like, “Uh… take me to Disneyland and pay for my food and drinks.”  So she did.

Anyway, I was excited, right?  Cuz I wanted to see the World of Color show so freaking badly.  So we got to Disney’s California Adventure and stood in line to get passes for the show.  The wait was around 30-40 minutes and the earliest show we could get was 10:15pm.

It was hot and crowded and yuck.  But it’s all good cuz it’s Disneyland and we were able to rest a lot.  We had a couple of drinks at the Grand Californian Hotel and afterwards we made our way back to the park to see World of Color.

We had to wait at a holding area for 1 more hour because the 9:15 show was still going on and the park employees still had to reset the viewing area.  We had to stand in front of these annoying teenagers while waiting in line, and after 15 minutes of hearing them yap, we were ready to murder them.  I mean, come on… one of them baby-talked for like, 45 minutes!  At first, without seeing her face, I thought she was only 5 years old so I excused the ridiculous voice.  But when I turned around, I found out that she’s like, 16 years old who’s just trying to bone one of the other guys in the group.  Motherfuckin’ A!  It was fucking torture!  But you know what?  Seeing World of Color would have been worth it.

By the time we were ushered to the viewing area, we’d have already been in Disneyland for approximately 11 hours.  Holy hell, the show better be good.  We were lucky and got placed at the very front of the viewing area – the Soak Zone.  We were getting super excited now… only a few more minutes until 10:15pm.  But 10:15 came and went and the show hasn’t started.

That’s ok, cuz shows get delayed, right?  We stood around for 5 more minutes, when finally… the announcer came on the speakers.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight’s 10:15 showing of World of Color has been canceled.”

Apparently, a pipe had burst. Fucking fuck.  11 hours at Disneyland. Teenagers baby-talking. Show canceled.  I was pissed off, man.  But what else can we do but go home?  As we were leaving the park, I saw that the queue of people outside Guest Relations started to get longer.  I heard that park employees were scared that there might be a riot.  Psshh.  I’m not surprised.  Can you imagine??  A lot of people spent hundreds of dollars on a dinner package because they were promised a good viewing spot.  Others (like my friend Kamilla) paid the full $97 park-hopper ticket.  Some people were tourists and that night was their last night at Disneyland.  Others actually scheduled their entire day around the World of Color show.  Yes, shows get canceled all the time, but at least Disneyland had some sort of damage control.  This time, they didn’t.  They didn’t know where to send people.  They didn’t know how to compensate those who spent lots of money.  They just made things up as the complaint line got longer and longer.  They didn’t have a plan.  Some got free fast passes to other rides.  Others got a free 1-day ticket to one of the parks. Most people didn’t get anything. And nobody got a guarantee to see World of Color at another time.  I mean, who cares about the fast passes and the free tickets?  We wanted to see the show… the show was taken away… we wanted to get compensated for that.

And you know what sucked the most?  The 11:15pm show went on without a hitch.  Some people tried to get back in, but their passes were for the 10:15 show so they technically weren’t valid. Freaking’ A.

HAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I'm going on vacation, bitchezz!  Watch out, Canada, here I come!
And yes, yes, it might be a bit rainy, but I don't care.  I'll be far far away from work.  It'll just be for a week, but it will be a week well deserved.

Mmm... Toronto and Niagara Falls with my peeps. Just one... more... day...

Today's Awesome List

  • I finally get to use my passport!
  • Went to Disneyland last Sunday with some fun people.

Last night's episode of Glee was so overly hyped up on Facebook and Twitter that when finally saw it today, I was so underwhelmed.  Yes, it did have some funny moments, but dudes... everyone and their mommas JUST HAD TO quote that "gay dolphin" thing.  By the time I heard Brittany say it, the joke was already played out!  LOL!!!

(But yay for Brittany and Santana!  It's possible that they can dethrone Artie and Tina as my Glee OTP.)

At the suggestion of [livejournal.com profile] portiapm, I thought I should give this whole "Gratitude Journal" a try.  I'm sick and tired of being defeated by stress and it's time for me to start kicking its ass.  So every day whenever I can, I'm going to blog about the awesome things that have happened to me on a particular day.  I'm not going to ignore all the bad, of course.  I'm still gonna use my right to bitch.  But it helps to acknowledge the good stuff too.  So anyways... here it is:

Today's Awesome List
  • Lunch break at the LMU bluff: The view was pretty, the breeze was cold, and the fruit parfait was yummy.
  • I put labels on a whole bunch of envelopes, I stuffed brochures into a whole bunch of envelopes, and I sealed a whole bunch of envelopes.  So relaxing :)
  • My sister finally got a Disneyland Annual Pass and she went to Disneyland today for the first time in about 5 years!  I'm so proud.  (And on that note, I'm going to Disneyland with her on Sunday and I'm freaking excited!)
  • Tomorrow's Bones episode?  Yep, already saw it!
  • My mom gave me loose change.  Cha-ching!!!  I have bus fare!!!
  • I got my In the Heights ticket in the mail!!
So there you go!  Now if you'll excuse me... the bed is calling my name.  Goodnight!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Don't worry about it, darling. I mean, these things are random. I took the very same test and my career match-up said, "Mary Cherry, the career that's best suited for you is serial killer!" I mean oh my god! It's crazy!

DOLLHOUSE. omg.
I was thinking, "Hmm... this ep is kinda slow-going," and then BAM! Shocker ending.  I can't believe there's only two more episodes.  TWO!  I need this show in my life, y'all!

***

I bought seasons 1 and 2 of "Popular" on DVD.  SQUEE!  I need a marathon someday.  And I say "someday" because I have other shows that I need to marathon.  Gosh, where will I ever find the time?

***

Just for my own reference:
I've seen Wicked a total of 7 times.  I've seen 6 different Elphabas and 5 different Galindas.  I've seen Eden Espinosa perform twice and Megan Hilty three times.  They are still my favorite duo.

***

Oooh!  OOOOH!!!!  I went to Disneyland last Friday after work!!!!  Man, it's so good to finally use my Annual Pass.  I thought I had renewed it for nothing.  Now I just need a couple more trips to make it worthwhile.

How come I've never tasted Stella Rosa wine until today?  Goddang, that shit's good.  Red Electra is still my favorite, but I'm glad to know that I have backup.

I've been knitting this scarf for months now and I just realized that it's way too wide.  I had to re-do the whole thing.  I've been knitting since yesterday and my ass hurts from sitting.  And the sad thing is... even though I have all this knitting to do, I'm still bored out of my mind. There's also nothing good to eat at home except for leftover Halloween candy.  I should have napped earlier.  Blah, this sucks.

***

I'm down to my last bottle of Red Electra.  What am I gonna do with myself?  I actually stopped by the liquor store last Friday just to see if they carry any dessert wines and they do!  They do!

***

BTW... I don't know if I've mentioned this before but when I went to Virginia last September, I totally saw NEIL PATRICK HARRIS at LAX boarding a plane to New York.  What.  He looked so good.  Why didn't I mention this in my vacation update last October?  I must've been on something.  It was like, awesome.

I haz an iPhone.  I named it Swarley.  I miss my Blackberry.

Why can't my iPhone receive emails instantly, even with the "push" option enabled?  Why is the Facebook app only giving me notification alerts 5% of the time?  Why can't I play Pandora and surf the web at the same time?  Why does it not come standard with a really good "to-do" app and a password keeper?   Why is it so hard to type, even on landscape?  Why does the battery life suck?  Why do I have to jail break it in order for it to be more functional?  How the heck do i jail break an iPhone?  I'm scared.  Help.

Don't get me wrong... it really is pretty.  And it's fun.  It's nice to have so many apps to choose from and it's easier to manage and sync, especially since I have a Macbook at home.  (Blackberries really aren't built for Macs -- at least not yet.)  But yeah... this will take A LOT of getting used to.  Plz someone link me to a credible, risk-free, jailbreaking site.  I need my iPhone to be able to multitask.

I know this is about 6 days late, but... LAKERS ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!! I was at the Hearthstone Lounge at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel with my friend Kamilla when it happened. I gotta say, the place needs a big flat screen TV. I had to check my cellphone for scores cuz their TV was so small that I couldn't see what was happening! Anyways, we chilled and had a couple of drinks and enjoyed our time at Disneyland where a whole bunch of people were sporting their Laker gear. It made me so happy.

I didn't get to go to the parade cuz I'm such an awesome LMU employee, but a couple of my cousins were there and I'm so jealous! I want Puppet!Kobe as much as I want Puppet!Angel.

The commute home: OLD version
LMU > Santa Monica Bus > Metro Green Line > Dad or bro picks me and my mom up from the station > HOME

But since my mom's work got relocated and she's being such a difficult old woman, I've decided "to hell with this, you deal with your own rides and I'll deal with mine."  I didn't care if it took me longer to get home just so I don't have to deal with her anymore.  So...

The commute home: NEW version
LMU > Santa Monica Bus > Metro Green Line > Metro bus > long walk home > HOME

It takes about 3 hours... as opposed to one.

Public transportation hasn't been good to me either!  I even changed my work schedule so that I can leave the office by 4:30, but I keep missing the train or the bus by 5 seconds so I have to wait 15-25 minutes for the next one.  Blah.  And no, I'm still not gonna start driving.

Anyways, back to work!

SATURDAY --

I went hoodie-shopping with my brother. I figured... hey, I'm gonna meet 3 breakdancers in the SYTYCD tour in LA. I gotz ta look tizzight. right? Well, ya know, I thought I can just grab the coolest medium-sized guy hoodie that I can get my hands on and I'd be on my merry way. Well, I was WRONG. Since when did it become difficult to shop for hoodies, man? I understand that the regular girl sizes usually don't fit me, but men's? Why do they gotta be hella slim, nowadays? Where'd all the baggy ones go? Anyways, I ended up getting this...

... in EXTRA LARGE. What the feezy?
I'm saying, dooodz... this better be worth it.

SUNDAY --

Disneyland, wut-wut!!!
What ever would I do if I didn't have an annual pass? It's the best stress reliever I've ever bought.

MONDAY --

I was stuck in traffic for like, an hour. There was an accident on the 405 and I think they closed the entire freeway or something. And on top of that, there was some road construction going on in Lincoln Blvd. so everyone was trying to fit into this one tiny lane. I took a nap on the bus and woke up feeling refreshed. Then I listened to BT's "Madskillz/Mic Chekka" over and over and over again just to pump me up for the day. I have a meeting until 6:30 PM so I needed the extra adrenalin.

My Veronica Mars season 3 DVDs came!!! Oh my, they're so so pretty. I couldn't help but admire the box. I think I'll be having a series marathon soon. BTW, speaking of DVDs, I made an online list of all the DVDs that I own! You can see it here:

Gosh darnit, we were gonna get on the new Finding Nemo ride and we didn't care if it took us 2-4 hours to wait in line. But wait... was that 2-4 hours, you say? NOT!!!

See, the projected wait was 2-4 hours, but when we got there, my cousin Gilbert had already been standing in line for about an hour so we just cut through a bunch of people and stood with him!!! Today, I came to work and turned on my computer, but the computer wouldn't turn on. Instead, it would make this weird "fax machine" sound. I found out minutes later that a whole grip of computers in the building were doing the same thing. So someone called the IT people. They came 2 hours later. They started fixing everyone's comps. And I was sitting in my office, right? Just waiting for them to come in. An hour flew by... then two hours... three hours... four hours...

Before I knew it, it was past 12 noon and I still haven't started any of my work because my computer is still not working.

So I called the IT people again and as it turns out, they forgot all about me! They thought they finished fixing all the computers so they left!! BAH!!! So whatever, whatever, whatever... two hours later, it's already 3:30 PM and I still haven't done any work. The IT people finally came and fixed it and before I knew it, it was time for me to go home. I mean, what the heck, yo?
