I got a new TiVo. I named him John Casey.  It was the last thing I needed to buy in able to complete my room.  So now I can finally say that the "renovation" is officially done.  Goodbye, fire.  Farewell, smoke stains.  Adios, charred wall.  So long, burn marks on the carpet.

BEFORE

AFTER

Click here to see the photos. )

Yay. And it only took me 2 months. LOL!!! Special thanks to Mr. Clean, BEHR, Home Depot, FLOR.com, and Target. I should also thank my dad because he totally moved all my furniture and ripped out the old yucky carpet from my floor. Oh, and my co-worker Jamie because she gave me her discount code for FLOR.com! I saved mucho money on the carpet tiles!

I guess one of the other major change in my room is the number of beds. There used to be two, you know, and now there's only one. I definitely appreciate the extra space... although now I don't know where to dump my dirty clothes.

***

Today's Awesome List
  • My room is officially done.
  • I love my new carpet.
  • My new TiVo kicks ass.  I can watch streaming HD videos from Netflix!
  • Caught up with my friend Will after not seeing him for a year.
  • My cellphone bill did not look too horrible this month (even with all the roaming charges from my trip to Canada.)
  • SYTYCD is back and I love Alex Wong.
  • I was able to sleep in until 12:30pm today!

Wow.  I must really like orange and green.

My walls are green, my comforter is orange, my pillows are green, my curtain is orange, my water bottle is green, my door is orange... and now both my laptop and my Blackberry are green AND orange!  When I move into my own apartment, I gotta find a new color scheme.  LOL!!!!

I bought stuff from Etsy for the very first time.  Now, you probably think that I bought a purse or a cute little iPod case, but you couldn't be any more wrong.  I bought food.  Yes, FOOD.  I didn't know you can buy edible goods on Etsy.  So I bought some motherfucking cookies.

MMMmmm!

Brownie caramel cookies from KEcookies.  Holy shit, they were good.  I can't wait to fucking order more.  Cuz you know what?  I deserve these cookies, man.  I mean, I'm so grateful that I have a job and I work at one of the most beautiful buildings ever that has a big-ass flat screen TV in the staff lounge (honestly, that TV is like, twice the length of my body) and I have the most amazing panoramic view of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean, but... you know sometimes I'm just like, "FUUUUUCK YOUUUUUU, beautiful building!!!  You might be pretty, but you feed on innocent human souls!!!"

***

I bought new shoes today.  The brand is called B0rn and I hope they're still comfy after some extensive walking.  They look like clogs, but they're light enough on my feet and my pants cover most of the shoes anyway so you can't see the fugliness of it.  Anyways... I'll start wearing 'em once the school year starts and I can no longer get away with wearing jeans and tshirt to work.

I've been so jealous of all these people who have the internet on their phone that I finally got a data plan for my Blackberry. Can I afford it? We'll see. I've managed to cut back a couple of dollars by changing and deleting some features on my cellphone plan so I'm crossing my fingers. I've thought about buying an iPhone cuz it's only $99 at AT&T right now, but the fact that I can't opt out of the data plan makes me feel iffy. I mean, what if I can't afford it anymore? I'd need a new phone! And seeing how pretty awesome the iPhone is, downgrading would be uber-painful. So uh, I've decided to pocket the $99 dollars and save myself the heartache. On the upside... I can now chat with [livejournal.com profile] peakin75 in Canada via Blackberry Messenger and I don't have to pay for international text messaging! WIN!

Man, Kelly Clarkson's new album rocks. I listened to it at work for 3 days, yo. And at one point, I listened to it 3 times in 3 hours! WTF is this? I never cared for her albums before! And I hate "My Life Would Suck Without You!" But the rest of it is pretty good :)

The older I get, the more I FAIL at sleeping in. It is teh suck. It's like my body's saying, "Six to seven hours of sleep is all you'll get! I don't care if you're still sleepy or you have the whole weekend to sleep -- I will fucking wake you up!" God, it's such a pain!

I even try to trick myself, you know? I'll go to bed at 9:30 PM, thinking that if I slept early I can sleep for 8.5 hours but nooooooooo. My body would wake me up at 4:00 AM! WTF??? I didn't sleep early so I can wake up earliER, you bastard! I slept early so I can sleep longer! Ugh, being a grown-up sucks!

I've joined the campus gym. It's only $5.00 a month for LMU staff members. I found out that a few library employees work out during lunch time and I figured, "Hey... why not?" My new headset fails. The jack was too small for my Blackberry Curve. I bought an audio adapter in hopes that I can get it to work. Now I just gotta wait for it to be delivered to my mailbox. In the meantime, I'll just have to put up with my too-big-for-my-ears headset. It's very painful to use... but that ain't gonna stop me from taking full advantage of AT&T's "unlimited nights & weekends" offer :D

Speaking of unlimited nights & weekends...
I was on the phone for 7 hours and 5 minutes last Friday night/Saturday morning. Tee hee!!! That totally beats my record of 6 hours and 5 minutes, no? It's all SO very worth it.

Remember my shoe-shopping-spree post from Sunday? Yeah, I got all three shoes but I'm returning the last two -- the green one and the purple one. The problem with ordering from Zappos is that you can never try on any of the shoes. The purple ZooYork one was too small and the green KangaROOS were hella comfortable on my heels (most comfortable shoes I've ever worn) but the backs were too high and they dug into the back of my feet. The Nike Vandals were purchased in store so I got to try them on. I'm so glad I decided not to buy them online because, as it turned out, even though my shoe size is 6.5, they are size 8 in that particular shoe style. Big difference, eh?? So yay for free shipping and yay for full refunds!!!

***

I ordered this headset for my Blackberry. I'm SO done with my too-big-for-my-ears earbuds. I had to have something that's comfortable enough for my 6-hour phone conversations. The only problem is that according to my order status on Amazon.com, I'm not gonna get my new headset 'til April 22nd. Booo. Anyway, it's cheap. Didn't have any stellar reviews but I'll take it.

Sometimes when I'm bummed, I buy expensive things...

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my latest purchase: The Blackberry Curve. Of course, I fully blame SYTYCD for my recent splurge. Ever since Sara got eliminated, I've been itching to buy something... I just didn't know what. But this morning I was reading a Rashida Jones article and she was like, squeeing over the Blackberry Curve so I was like, "A-HA!!!!! Hello, shiny new toy!" So I went to my AT&T account online, found out that I qualify for a phone upgrade, and just... bought the damn thing (big thanks to discounts and rebates). So yes... my Blackberry Pearl (Scofield) has now been replaced by a shiny new Blackberry Curve (who will be named "Chuy" as soon as I receive it in the mail).

But no worries... I sold Scofield to my cousin Mylene, who desperately needed a new phone.

He's my new Motorola RAZR phone.

So here's the scoop: My phone broke. No incoming calls, no outgoing calls. I had no idea what was going on so I went to one of them Cingular "booths" at the mall. I asked them if they can fix my phone. They said that there's nothing wrong with it so they can't really "fix" it. And I said, "BUT I CAN'T EVEN DIAL OUT!!! What am I gonna do? I don't qualify for an upgrade until October! Will I not have a functioning phone 'til then???"

I was like, freaking out. And one of the dudes who worked there kept talking to me in Tagalog, but he's Latino so he can't really speak Tagalog. I was all getting annoyed... but then the guy who was helping me said: "Well, I can give you the upgrade now if you want."

No duh, Sherlock!

So I picked my phone. I really wanted a SLVR, but as it turns out, the black RAZR was the cheapest one. So I got the RAZR. I was gonna name him "Travis," but I changed it to "Ivan." Just because.

Tomorrow, the MEN. I know I'm already voting for Sway cuz, you know, I gotta give it up for my countrymen. But yeah, I'm definitely all about the gray-haired guy.

(Heee! I love American Idol season because I actually get to use my cellphone! How big of a loser am I?)

(I know, I know... I have Cingular and I can just send a text message "vote," but I don't really like "texting." They cost extra money.)

Anyways...
You know, I find it odd that I haven't watched a single Olympic event this year. I mean, I usually obsess over shit like this, man. I LIVED FOR speed skating! But right now? No interest whatsoever! What the heck is going on???

And speaking of weird happenings, Dude... Where's My RENT DVD? I'm supposed to get it tomorrow, yo. But there seems to be a lot of inactivity up at USPS.com. Dude!!! Does the stink of weed ever disappear on this floor? Seriously, the people across the hall smoke weed every freaking day that the smell is just slowly killing me. And another thing -- can we just stop with all the Nextel walkie-talkie thing? If I hear that beeping sound one more time, I'm gonna go crazy. I don't get what's so great about the Nextel phones/walkie talkies anyway. Everytime somebody's using 'em, you're forced to listen to their damn conversations. It's annoying. Done.

Oh, you know what else is annoying? The lady at the cafeteria kept charging me for the Sparkletts bottle that I did NOT buy from the cafeteria. It's my own bottle, dammit. Quit charging me $1.99 for it. I actually went to Ralph's today and bought an Aquafina... that way, when I refill it and bring it to school, I can just tell the cafeteria lady, "This is Aquafina... not Sparkletts. The school don't sell Aquafina, so don't charge me for it. Suck on it, bitch."

Anyways, there's a job opening at the university library. If that job is still available once I graduate, I'm taking it. I was at work today and the co-workers were talking about me graduating. They didn't want me to leave, and heck... I don't want to leave either. So my bosses said, "Come back, then. Come work here again. Full time." And I said, "Sure... if there's a job opening." And they said... "Actually, there WILL be a job opening. One of the workers from the so-and-so department is leaving."

*crosses fingers*

But damn... graduation is a long time from now. By the time I get outta here, the position may already be filled. *sigh* Working for the university would've been great... I get to go to grad school here for free (or I think portion of my tuition will be paid for). And dude... if I get to go to grad school for free, then... I'd go to grad school!

Anyways.

A big, BIG Happy Birthday to miss [livejournal.com profile] talula and miss [livejournal.com profile] puppetoflove!!! May you guys have a really bangin' day :D
